Default need urgent help with dealing with dealer

ok, so the short story is that the dealer forgot to connect a vac line last time i had the car in for service. it ran ****ty, smoked, and burned oil and i took it back in and they said i had fouled spark plug 1 and pulled misfire codes. a week later, i'm a qt. low on oil, and still smoking so i took the car back in. now they want to charge me hundreds of dollars to check whats wrong....tech said possible fried ring/bad piston.

i was told i have to pay because the vac line didnt have anything to do with this. he said the most it would do is cause lean burn, low compression, and/or burning of a valve.

is there any relation to why my car could be burning oil after they messed up my vac line and caused my engine to misfire and foul a plug? i dont want to have to shell out more money for this stupid car already. i need an answer telling me what/how/why they messed up and need to at least not charge me 800 bucks for this.

Without knowing what vacuum line they left disconnected it's pretty hard to say what effect it would have had.

Seriously... People can be so ignorantly vague with their question and expect a specific answer.... /yawn

sorry guys i was in a rush earlier...its a 99 2.5rs 5spd w/ just over 100k. i picked up the car from the dealer, had some talks with a mechanic and he said, i could argue that the missing vac line caused a lean burn, heating, and eventually frying the rings, which now causes the oil burning/smoking.

i dont know what vac line was off, but does this scenario make sense/sound possible?

i have a prepaid legal consultant, so ill have to talk with them about this.

oh, and btw in the last week, bit burned a qt in approx. 200 miles
