Default vf39? and more.

Ok guys so i have the vf39 sitting right next to me ready to insatll, I just have a couple of questions before i do it. Just so you know i have a cobb catted tb, sti tmic and apv2 on my 2006 wrx. Now, my turbo came with the stock sti boost lines, and i am wondering if the stock sti pill is the right size? I know cobb calls for the stock wrx pill to be drilled but i was wondering if i could just use the stock sti pil? Next, I live in the twin cities where there are hardly any good protuners, but i got in touch with tintmasters where they seem to have a good rep but they only do road tuning. What am i losing by having it road tuned vs. dyno tuned. BTW tintmasters has a fargo ND location where they seem to have a good rep and the same guy from there would be doing my tune. Also has anybody had any experience with tintmasters? All help is appreciated!!!

Oh and one more thing, the guy told me i should upgrade my fuel pump and injectors. I know the pump is probably needed, but do i really need new injectors? I thought the 06 injectors were big enough for the vf39.

You will definitely be fine with just a pump, and probably fine without one. There is no need for injectors yet with just a VF-39.

Your injectors are fine but the fuel pump upgrade is very wise.

Road vs. dyno tune is a very debatable topic. It all depends on how miuch experience the tuner has with road tuning. Tintmasters sounds like they do tint. I'd try finding a tuner who specializes in doing Subarus. Make a road trip out of it if you have to.

your only in wisconsin?? make the trip down to illinois and go to p&l motorsports in schaumberg.... its pretty much the closest thing to crawford sti your going to find in the midwest to get tuned...im installing my vf39 this saturday. get the fuel pump to optimize your max potential amount of power out of the turbo for your tune.

I just got my VF39 done today. I definitely want to get a protune to get rid of some of that turbo lag. However, holy shat....it pulls so hard all the way to redine. Stage 2 is dead by 5grand, but the VF39 actually pulls even harder at that point.

For reference I have:
STi topmount
VF39 brand new with stock pill
Walbro 255 fuel pump.
Megan Racing Catless DP
SPT Catback
SPT Intake/Heatsheild
Cobb Crank Pulley
