Default What do you guys think of this setup? Shouldn't be dissapointed!

Looking into a 3.0 6 cylinder for the sti along with the twin (compound) charge kit from http://www.forcedairtech.com/turbokits_wrx_stage5.html

The other option is to sell the sti and get the new M3 in December. My main concern about the sti setup is I'll more than likely allways have to run race gas. I had a water/alchy kit on my last setup (fpgreen) and tuned it many times, but it never fully got rid of the knock. Thoughts?

never been impressed with that sti project nor much of FAT's products short of the old school t3/t4 setup for the RS's....
that is also a horrible looking torque curve/powerband...first time I've seen dyno numbers from that kit...
two nicely sized turbos will suit that motor much better...
what kind of power are you looking to make?

I would not go and put down the Subaru that quick. You can tune out knock on any engine. You can mechnically raise knock threshold or lower boost and a/f.

Who did you have do the install? Who did the tune? I had no knock on the Green, and I didn't even have water/alchy. What EMS were you using? There are lots of variables that can make more impact than you think. Personally, for the money on that kit, I would almost rather do a twin scroll GT42 on a built bottom end and call it a day.

hmm.... i thought the m3 wasnt out until next year???

That combo you are thinking of would make for a rather interesting drive...

I would go for an RS4 however though

I wasn't knocking the tuning...did you even look at the double-lumped, seemingly laggy torque curve?!!

besides, you can make that much power or better with a better torque curve for less hassle...

It was a cool idal that wasn't executed like it needed to be done (lots of enigneering for good twincharge stetups and tieing them together seemlessly)...that fab work is always stellar over there though.
