Default Chasing the numbers; finally got my 7.9...

Miles: 25,600
Wheels: 18X8 Prodrive PFF7's
Tires: thoroughly worn 225/40/18 BFG g-force sports
Suspension mods: Tanabe GF210 springs

Power mods: Pro-tune (RiftsWRX), Helix catted down-pipe
Weight mods: 152 lbs removed
Conditions: 75, 65% humidity, 341 ft. above sea-level

It took me 13 passes (two different days) to make it happen, but here it is...

Congrats!!!! 2 questions though, what did you take off to lose 152 lbs? Was this on race gas? Anyways that would be low 12s which is awesome in my book. Considering the fact you only have a downpipe I am very, very impressed. Great job!

EDIT: I see you from your old thread where your weight reduction came from. So I guess I am only curious if you used race gas or not. Thanks!

Thats some nice driving there! I'm in a wrx 5spd, but the only few times I've gone 7.9 in the 1/8th, I trapped 90mph...which gear do you guys get through 1/8th in?

Again, awesome run...cool weather, you easily have some sub 12.5 runs

ttyl

Matt: This last pass being my 78th in the STi, I know I had a 7.8 once, but had difficulty getting the car into third, so I managed a 7.9. Unfortunately, I lost the slip. But to answer your question, yes, 7.8 is now my new goal.

Pharo: My car has never seen race gas, but I am lucky to have 93 available to me here, and that's what my tune is for .

Earl: By my calculations (I know, funny right...lol) a 7.7 is possible with my current mods/tune, but I'd have to pull a 1.5 (which I've done once), and have you drive the car .

Trey: I'm mid-way into 4th when I cross the line, and thanks for the compliments.

Dump some funny fuel in there, refresh your tune and you're good to go. If you're skilled enough to pull a 1.5, then forget 7.6, i say 7.5s and call it a day! haha

Temps are dropping, get you ass back out there.

awesome stuff. good luck on the new goal. 1.5 is wicked. I used to have a Camaro that would do 1.5 pretty much on demand. I gotta get my car to the track on of these days and learn how to drive it.

again congrats and best of luck on better times. I know it's tough and frustrating, but so fun at the same time

Whoa, let me make something clear. The 1.5 was under flawless conditions (track prep/28 psi in RE070's/8th tank of gas/62°/low humidity/near sea-level/etc), and more of an accident than anything. I'm a 1.75 guy most of the time, and only pull a 1.6 from time to time.

Earl: No funny fuel for me, this is all about my personal abilities with 93. My future plans are for a 20G/TMIC set-up with basic supporting mods, and I'm hoping to run a 7.5 with that. I know people are going to tell me I can't do it, and that's why I'm going to .

MattP: I love to see those LS1 cars at the track pulling the 1.5's (or lower). I'm like, wow, wish I could do that, then I run and they come over to my car and go...wow, a 1.6 and the car is nearly bone stock? I just grin.

Many of them used to think I was lying, as all the V8 guys (in my area) LOVE to hide their mods and make like their cars are nearly stock when they're not even close. However, after talking with me time and again they know I'm on the level.
