Ill probably be doing more interior work, removing pieces/panels and such. Ill probably start removing bits from the front of the car, perhaps the chrome trim as well.

I'm not a fan of steel wheels...

Ill probably stick with these or those other enkei-like wheels I found that are actually availible in the right size bolt pattern (but the offsets might be a problem)

BTW, what do you guys think about this paint scheme for the rear?

Note the black in the "indented" part of the rear of the car... Seems like theres too much space back there between the lights, and i've seen a couple other model FF-1's with black accent pieces between the rear lights that seemed to help.

Heres the original for reference:

Go for the black. It stays "clean" as well since you can't see the dust/dirt.

Borrowing styling from VW are we? The first generation Golf/Rabbit had that option. Don't see it too much anymore...

Did anyone notice the taillight trim was painted over (silver to black) so that it kept the theme? I think it looks nice that way; the lenses appear a little darker, the tail a little shorter.

Thanks for noticing

I actually have two NOS rear tail lights that I took apart (actually, you have to disassemble them to replace the bulbs... kind of annoying, but hey its old) and found the chrome bits come off desperately making for easy painting.

Satin definitely. Flat would look a bit too oxidized, and gloss would come out looking like it was done after the fact. Satin will look more OEM.

I do not. Someone ripped them off the car at the junkyard from what I can tell (a few of the "tabs" were broken off and still in the holes for them)

Day 8:

I didnt have much time today due to dealing with smogging my daily driver Impreza, but I did get a couple things done...

1) Removed the front carpet and side sill pieces
2) Removed the "cardboard" shifter console
3) Removed the rear seat interior side boards (popped right out)
4) Removed the erroded door and window weather stripping
5) Removed what was left of the vinly headliner and a couple other roof pieces that were screwed in
6) Vacumed a heck of a lot of crap out from all those areas...
7) Removed the front blinkers that were on the hood
8) Ran the car for awhile, then pulled it up front for pictures in good light
9) Removed the front grill last and i'm starting to clean that up to give everyone a good idea of what kind of restoration I plan on doing for some of the car...

So anyhow, heres the pics from today, probably the best ones yet:

Note: The rear of that shifter linkage is not connected to anything!

Oh, and I finally got a good idea of how small this car is after pulling it out onto the street... VERY small! Which rocks!
