I'd look at extended cab trucks. They all have those type of windows.

Thats for an all-glass window, not a framed window.

510 latches look to be the best bet so far, but damn thats expensive!

I know that these are plastic also, but they are much cheaper than the Datsun replacements. Not sure if these would fit or not.

Well at least there are plenty of sources for the latches, so you should be able to find something that will work.

I continue to check on this thread every couple weeks or so, and like everyone else here I'm keeping my eyes open for a block, though I doubt I'll find one here in Michigan.

Found some latches at Pick'n'pull on a 70's Corolla that should work. They mount nice and flat and their bolt holes are far away from the stock ones on the FF-1 so I won't have any overlap issues (FYI, the stock screw holes were just drilled into the frame, no actual threads for bolts or anything).

Also took the window squeegees from the Corolla since they were in perfect shape. Gonna take some work to get them to work, but I think they will do just fine.

Still waiting for my window channels though...

Can you post pics of the squeegees? I have no clue what you're talking about .

What company did you end up going with for the channels?

Squeegees are the rubber bits that press next to the window as it goes up and down so rain doesn't get in.

The channels I ordered at O'reilys were some universal ones. Not sure if they will work until I actually see them.

Just got the window channel felt finally, and cut it to the correct dimensions for the frame and even test fit it. It doesn't fit 100%, but I tested it with the window in place and it slides nicely.

However, I do need to get some sort of adhesive to stick it on properly so it doesn't shift. What should I use for this?

try the ones from a mid-80s GL or Standard 3-door hatch. mine has pop-out windows and look just like that.

they fit into holes in the glass and then have 2 set screws in the frame for the window. then the other side of the window is on 2 hinges.

I believe the correct name is pop-out window latch.

you could also go fancy and just get ones that work. vintage VWs use nice metal ones.

you could go even fancier and get replacements made out of aluminum:

How about spraying some 3m adhesive into a small cup and using a Q-Tip to spread it into the channel?

No need for that. There is one specially made for this. I've used it before, it's called Super Weatherstrip and Gasket Adhesive from 3M.

I was about to suggest that exact same product.

LOVE that stuff! Definately get that stuff. Some shops only carry yellow though, if you care.
