Seriously doesn't look that bad to me. Looks mostly surface. But the pics may be misleading. Do you have an rust through?

Actually, most of what you see in that specific photo is glue from the sound deadening material.

You can see the holes in the bottom sides of the car in the latest photos pretty well... Thats the worst spots on the car.

well, obviously Dynamat's competitors would be a more value-based choice ;p. But also consider that spray on lining (like Rhino or LineX)stuff too. Since you have it so stripped out, it would be super easy to apply, i think...

Kostamojen, If you do decide to go with a spray on, coming from the Jeep world, I suggest Herculiner (sp?) Awesome stuff if youre into that...

Also, First time chiming in.... Awesome work so far!

'Tis true. There are different brands with different products. Loctite has an aerosol version...there is also some stuff called navel jelly...and last but not least a product called ospho. For a larger project like the one you have, I would go with ospho. You can buy it in gallon jugs, pour it straight into a pump sprayer, and go to town!

well, if you're seriously considering a butyl mat material, you might as well think about it. In the right forumlation, the two weigh the same, and have alot of the same sound & vibration absorbing characteristics. It even comes in a can at pepboys these days. Don't dismiss it too quickly. ;p

I love watching this thread. I hope you continue your work with the same enthusiasm and updates for us to view.

I have a old valiant sitting at the farm that I keep saying I'm going to do something with. This thread may have given me the motivation to start the research and work.

Keep up the great work and thanks for the awesome read.

Looks like someone just randomly slashed at the drivers door interior with a knife. Best of luck on your restoration journey. I'm sure it will test your mettle.
