just an update -

Meet went well for the first organized meet - Police showed up as requested at 11 pm (maybe 15 minutes early), then we talked with them, and discussed the future meets.

There were a few hiccups, but we'll get those ironed out as things progress. Of course, there were the ever present haters/ricers there, but 75 percent toned down their behavior once they understood what was requested of them. You cant get everyone to act like adults, but at least the word is out.

WE had a few special guests out last night, even though it was friggin COLD! Drift boys showed up in strength with quite a few 240's, 2 or 3 NSX including a sick wide body NSX. There was a CLEAN supra that stuck around for a couple hours, and of course the NW Evolution crew showed up in strength, the Nasioc.com members showed up, as well as the full force from the PIA Group.

The catch was that we didnt have a signed and official agreement with Krispy Kream staff, so we were asked to stop the meet at 11 - no problem with that since our timeline was from 8-11.

Things flowed smoothly - Thanks to everyone that helped out, and especially to the Project Alpha Crew and the NW Evo crews that helped out big time. Keeping things in order and meet the rush after 10pm - that was the tough part... and next week we'll have things worked out even better...

always improving, always adapting... I'll post up some pictures later tonight!

Meet was badass, Talked to PIA, met a few new people. Good times all around.

The forum you have to fill out is super basic, just asking you some information about your car, what you have done ext, but that isn`t even manditory.

Really all you have to put down is your name and phone number, and your good to go.

Thanks again Kory, good work!

sorry for the delayed post - No its not going to go down on Saturday's - just too much other stuff going on. I hope to have things move to another place eventually, but you have to give things time.

Alot of people seem to think that if things dont work the first 2 or 3 times, then just give up and move on... I'm not like that. Its rough, yes, but you have to give things like this time.

I said pretty much everything I needed to say in my last post, I did have a good time, and time went by fast - i didnt even get a chance to eat any doughnuts!

Thanks for the support to everyone, and the negative stuff just makes me realize how closed minded alot of people are on here... honestly, the street is the street...

I ran into a kid last night that was maybe 15 - he taught me the complex fundamentals of the differences between the 92-95 ek/eg honda hatchbacks as well as a very well educated discussion between the pro's and cons from naturally aspirated engines and turbo charged engines... He's been going to KK for the last 6 years since he was 9.... NOW WHERE are you going to meet a better candidate for a future circuit phenom or amazing tuning genious...

The potential for something great is out there, its just a matter of putting in the work to make things successful... You can sit on this site and gripe and moan and complain all you want, but until you DO something about it, nothing will change.

If the smell of Tacoma alone isn't enough to dissuade a person from going there, then the people you meet will.

i think i did - i'll write you back tomorrow since when I sent you the reply, it dropped out of the net -

I will need your help in the near future as the meet gains notoriety - additional space will be needed with more people, and with more people, we'll need more organizers - maybe we could hook you guys up with free doughnuts or something - jk - we'll think of some sort of good incentive or payback for helping us out - thanks for the kind words... and well, for the not so kind words...

About the "thug life" in tacoma scaring people away from attending this meet:

There was at least 4 people that just got back from Iraq, about 15 other enthusiests out there, and a few cops....

No one there, would let something get out of hand, physical, "punking" ext.

This ain`t fight club, its an import meet. No one has to be scared of anything, there are plenty of people on this site and other enthusiests there to protect everyone

If something bad happens in a scenero like that...I think I`ve said enough

pretty much ^^^ -

And like I said before - we'll eventually have a set meeting place that will be pre-designated in the upcoming months. Just give us a few weeks to really nail down the fine details so we can make the new spot as clean and responsible as possible.

Once we can filter the irresponsible asshats that refuse to act like adults, well then they can be left clueless as to where everyone else is meeting up when the KK parking lot is empty.

Its not about being exclusive, its just curtailing to the more mature crowd that isnt about street racing or dealing with the BS that goes on at KK. Its a time consuming process, but it works after committing yourself to making things work.

Just give things time.

I'm gunna be in California for the next 2 meets, but after that I will start organizing Auburn meet up and drives out there for the North end folks, Would be awesome to have a good 20 mile drive once a week with a caravan of like 10 or so cars.

schweet - yeah, I think the 8-11 plan is good for now. We'll work someplace other than KK eventually, but location with somewhere to go inside is sublime... snacks, hot drinks, etc... thats hard to find.

Thanks for the help from auburn!

It's not so much the 'thug-life' per say, but rather the general attitude of people from Tacoma, or at least from my personal experience. Being a bit more ghetto (admit it) you get a rougher tougher not-so easy going crowd. Maybe things have changed since I stopped visiting the Tacoma area, who knows.

Yo, Kory. This is Mike, I'm the one with the white widebody NSX.

I talked it over with the boss and he is pretty cool with providing space at our shop for meets and probably during the days too only if it's on Sunday's.

As for a huge even next year, I can probably see if we can talk with Cardomain or even NOS whom we are affiliated with and see if they can provide us some support for that huge even that we have talked about.

Hit me up and we can sit down with my boss over some coffee and work out some details.

No I totally understand what your saying, I was at the street fair during the 4th of july and there was def. a thuggish feel. there is not very much good tacoma persay . But I can assure everyone that this meet is an exeption. There are far more people there that are into there cars and are just out to have a good time to let people like that stand in the way.

And in a way sanctioning this event further enables the concept of bettering the aria and meets. The vibe I got friday was the same as Alki meets or any other event, I didnt really know anyone when I went out there but everyone was really cool, and if more subys start to go out, it will be fun to see what mods people do on a week to week basis.

not to mention the Supra that claimed over 700hp, That thing was clean!

A few NSX`s, 350`s, Dodge neons , tons of modded Evo`s, and quite a few really nice WRX`s too that I had not seen before. It will be cool to have some of the north end suby crowd come out.

heck yeah - well hopefully in the future, I will be able to notify people a day ahead whether the meet will change locations, either through MSM via phone, email, or forum postings.

Simply put, the KK parking lot just isnt big enuf for the crowd that will be congregating - we experienced the problem last friday, so we'll definately be swapping up places once we get everyone's contact info down put -

All the info submitted will be for contact information only, and no 3rd party individual will be able to have access to the information.
