I guess I'm not the only one who didn't know what it was for.

Now all I need is for someone to tell me why the Karussell corners are made of crappy concrete patches with a high, almost pointed crown in the middle of the racing line.

So you can dip down where it's banked and rail through the corner. I came out of one of them at 55mph in a barely modded WRX, so it's obviously good for something.

The "racing line" is the fastest line through any given turn on any given track at speed in one specific car.

It takes into account the geometry of the track. If the track was different, there'd be a different set of lines.

what? to whom was that addressed? there is usually a generalized "racing line" thru most corners, with only relatively small variations of apex timing, etc. for differently set up cars. No matter what you're driving, up over the crest on the carousel is not the line...

I agree.

It was directed at Bottom Feeder.

The "racing line" has to take into account the geometry of the track. If there's a big bump in the road that makes it hard to drive, then that's not the racing line.

So these are track notes placed by drivers and their crews after doing practice laps or something like that?
