Default Question about VF34 !!!!

hi
I have an 03 wrx and was turned by harman motive over the past month.

Set up:
-VF34
-APS D/R 525 front mount
-APS 65 cold air intake
-Sti Pinks
-Walbro fuel pump
-Cobb Access Port
-Turbo back exhaust
-up-pipe
-down-pipe
-BOV

Right now my car is making 255hp at the wheels and 225tq. To me the number seem to be lower than i expected, but they told me that it is correct because they are using a "Mustang Dyno".

My question is:
Is the number correct or should it be higher or am just being stupid? Cuz i have read about wrx making 280-300hp at the wheels with the VF34 on the forum before so plz help me out.

Thanks

Your running Cali 91 octane. Your numbers sound about right. Throw some meth on there and your tuner will be able to advance your timing a little.

Dynojet....?!

Mustang dyno is a lower reading dyno.

How much does a stock WRX make on that dyno?

I make 286-290 on a mustang dyno with my vf22. I would think you would be higher as well but maybe that 91 oct is a bigger factor.

That actually sounds about right. On their old dyno that would probably be around 285 whp. More importantly how does the car drive?? I'm thinking about going with the same setup shortly.

Comparing dyno numbers is worthless. If anything you can somewhat compare time slips. Other than that how does it feel?

Well throw some more info. out there.... what was the temp in the shop? What was the humidity that day? Were there fans blowing into your front mount? What was your elevation. All of which can sway the results. If your happy with the way the car drives then let it go. Numbers don't mean anything unless they are in seconds.

I didn't know what was the temp on that day also the humidity and the elevation. All i know is that "YES" there was blowing into my front mount.

Your # is completely wrong. I cant believe you left the shop with that #. I wouldnt have let them take my car off the dyno until it said i had 300 whp.

You should take it back to them and tell them they need to learn how to tune and that you read on nasioc that you should have 300whp.

Go read this http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...k+mustang+dyno

Thats a weird way to quote your #'s. Not just 290whp or 285 whp, but 286-290whp 4hp range. sorry im tired, but thats funny.

oh noes... the random number generator gave a low number!

there is no right or wrong number... every dyno reads a little differently. take it to the track and see what kind of times you run... if your times (traps) are similar to other guys at the track with similar setups then you're where you should be.

cal, i hope you know i was joking.

I had my car tuned at harman too.

I'd suggest getting an 16g, 18g, or 20g. My neighbor actually has a 16g that he had on his 02 WRX that he'd probably sell you. He put down 300/300 on harmans old dyno with it. Just PM me if you are interested and I'll get a hold of him.

I would think your FMIC might be hurting you. Most people dont run them with the VF series turbos.

And a alky injection kit would do wonders too. My neighbor picked up 50whp and 75 ft*lbs with his alky on harmans old dyno.
