Subaru Stars Advice on 05 Legacy GT upgrades

I just purchased a 2005 subaru legacy GT... I've had it for about a week now and I love it, but i'm curious if theres any way I can upgrade the turbo or hardware around it to give it more of a "turbo sound". Unless you knew, or actually drove the car you wouldnt have any clue that there was a turbo under the hood, I'd like to change that. I want to have that whistle that we all love to hear. I'm a bit nervous about just throwing things on thought; with the worry that I might mess up something else w/ the stock eninge. If n e one has any ideas let me know. I'm a bit new to this!

Thanks again!

I'd check out www.legacygt.com where they're dedicated to your year upgrades.

well, you can go the intake route, that will open up the engine sound a bit more. i have a 2005lgtwagon and here is my build route..

front/rear swaybars
springs
brakes
ecu reflash
exhaust

in that order.... the car is plenty fast in a straight line, so it needed some help in the curves.

intake and bov will let you (and everyone else) know there's a turbo under the hood. pull the snorkus, too.

You don't even have to waste your money on a BOV if you don't want to. I put a Perrin short ram on mine and you can hear the stock one perfectly all day. If you rmoved the air box that is connected at the bottom of your filter you will gain a more throaty sound....no BOV sound though.

Upgrade your exhaust system, put a "turbocharged" sticker on the back.
why the heck would you want to hear the BOV atmospheric discharge...so annoying.

Get an ECU reflash first, worth the hassle

Does anyone have numbers on what a cat/axle-back does for this car? Is it an upgrade to the exhaust note only, or do we get actual power gains?

head over to LGT.com from a simple stock ecu reflash you're looking at close to 20hp gains, thats without any mods.
