Default Auto-dimming compass/temperature mirror in 01 Legacy

I have a Donnelly Auto dimming compass/temperature mirror (camlock mount) installed in my 04 WRX.

Can that same mirror be installed in an 01 Legacy L (wagon)? Will the wiring and all just work?

Thanks.

I have heard that the wiring is existent already and it should be just plug and play, but I am sure someone here has done it on a BE/BH and could probably chime in to say I'm wrong or right (hopefully the latter)

I know the compass mirror was an option on the legacy models in 2001. I ALMOST added it to my car. I also heard it was pretty much plug and play.

I have the autodim/compass rear view mirror on my car standard. If you can get the OEM unit, I think it's plug and play. You may have to fish in the head liner for the plug for the things though, but I'm on 100%.
