Default TD04 WRX ran 12.9 last night :)

Hi everyone,

just thought I'd post up my timeslip from last night. Mods currently installed on the car are ebay Uppipe and downpipe, homemade catback with a turndown near the rear differential, APS shortram intake and I tuned the car myself via stock ECU reflash. That's it for power mods!! Temp was ~65 fahrenheit and run took place at the mid michigan motorplex. videos should be online in the next day or two. Feel free to offer any critiques on the time slip

cheers,
-Reid

good driving....very few people can pull off the 1.7 60' in the wrx.

Not much to say. You might be able to get a 12.7 on the most perfect run of all time.

Looks like you're # 6 on the quickest td04 list. Add your info slip to this thread

thanks for the kind remarks! the 1/8 mile time/speed was 8.256@84.25mph I wasn't able to get the car to hook up well enough to get below 1.8 until I started using the water box/burnout box... after that it pulled 2 back to back 1.7XX's that I Was MORE than happy with. I already PMed the sub 13 second TD04 thread starter so I'll hopefully be added to the list.

Casey, if I can do it I'm sure you can too!

Affinity1, you see turndowns on a lot of muscle cars and such... instead of running a pipe all the way out the back of the car you just put a bend in the pipe so that it's pointing down at the ground. I just referenced the rear differential to give you guys an idea of how far back the pipe runs before it turns down basically there are about 4 feetish of pipe coming off the end of the downpipe and at the end it just turns 45 degrees and points at the ground right under the rear differential.

Thanks guys! I can't wait to try it after the swap too... my goal was to run in the 12's before I swapped motors so I guess I can get going on the swap now

Added you to the quick list, nice job!
There are very few of us that have been able to pull 1.7x 60' times on the 2 liter with the stock turbo, fine job on the launch!

in all honesty, I think 99% of what seperates a time like that and a sub 13 second time is how much you're willing to abuse the car... there's a big difference between making sure your tranny doesn't ASPLODE and being a bad driver my guess is that you fall into the former category and not the latter

What the hell!? A snowmobile running the 1/4....that rules!

Good times, congrats. Those are some great 60ft's and R/T's. I'm begging for 1.7's in my Honda drag car, we should see those soon. Can't wait to see the times when you have some more power!

if you're pulling 1.7's in a honda drag car I'm guessing your ET's and traps are significantly more impressive than mine :-P

Tell me about it. 13.2 @ 105 last night. w/ a 2.28 60's. I even waited for the tree to come all the way down, just to concentrate on the launch. What a shame. LMAO.. practice, practice.
