I've been trading email with Payback45 all day today

I don't see the CAI at all on Cobb's site, and it was too late today for me to call or talk to them to see if they've discontinued 'em.

Call Cobb directly. They may have one lying around still.

It's a little $$ for what it is (especially if you buy it new), but that's another thread for another day.

I would love to buy one used. If anyone would give it up. Also, how long do the filters last?

It's a regular KN-style cone filter in there. You'll need to clean and re-oil it every 20-40k miles or so depending on conditions.

Inside that black tubing there is a cone filter? I thought it was more of a tube shape. To be honest I have no idea what the filter lookes like.

Yes, the black tube is basically a heatshield. Without the black shield it's just a regular "ram air" intake.

Really? Is it your standard size cone filter?

Not that I recall, though I haven't browsed through the KN catalog in all it's entirety - they have different designs and sizes for different applications.

Unless you want to do some fabrication and stuff, buying a Cobb would be easier TBH.

I currently have a SRI. I want the Cobb CAI. Has anyone out there changed from SRI to CAI? Also, did you notice a difference? Sound, TQ, HP ECT. Also, is it worth the money?

Another thumbs up for the Cobb. I love mine, and was not happy when I called Cobb up and was told that they will no longer make parts for our Legacies. Bum deal.

Where can I get a replacement filter, if i were ever to need one? So is the Cobb really that great? I would be going from SRI to CAI.

it's the cleanest CAI you can get for an N/A subaru; if I had the choice, I'd go with the CAI all the time.

However, I don't want to give you the impression that they'll turn your car into a WRX burner simply by adding the Cobb. Far from it, in fact. You'll notice it'll pick-up ever so slightly better, and it makes a lot more sound doing so.

oh I know what I have and what I don't. I call it my pretend race car. Thats good to hear that it will sound "better" if you will. I would love a deeper, throatier sound. I cant wait to get it.
