Default HELP: exhaust install problem

So i was installing a HKS carbon Ti catback exhaust in my 06 STi, i actually just took it up to meineke to do it and when they had it all in place ready to bolt down, the axle back part of the exhaust was sitting flush against my axle and barrely missing the diff. Also it was resting against my underbody diffuser which doesnt seem to be to hard of a problem to fix. But the part about it leaning up against my axle. I even had Brian from VTR come check it out and he said it didnt look safe. By the way I was bolting it up to my stock downpipe which they said didnt even match up. So i figured I just have to get a HKS downpipe to match up against it. Has anyone else ran into the problem where it sits up against your axle and how did you fix it? I was thinking possibly longer exhaust hangers possibly. Any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance
