Do you mean in terms of overall outer diameter or section width? Trying to keep your outer diameter near stock is probably smart. A 195/60/14 is only 23.2 inches outside diameter. You can play with some sizing here:

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

As for section width, usually the widest you want on a 7 inch rim is 225, 7.5 inch takes a 235 max, and 245 on an 8 inch rim. If you're autocrossing and limited by maximum wheel width, you might be able to squeeze a little bit more on there.

I think the wheel/tire forum might have more information for you.

Hmm... 195/60R14? Like Mike says, that's a pretty short tire... I thought the Euro 1.6 got 185/70R14 which would be around 24.2in - I'm surprised RoW got a shorter tire for the base model.

To keep your speedo accurate with a 17" rim would only leave you (23.2 - 17)/2 = 3.1in of sidewall - do you really want that? How are the roads around you?

Maybe you should think about 16in instead e.g. 205/50/R16 at 24.1in total diameter will be close to 195/60R14.

I edited your first post to remove all the colors and bolds and crap and edited your thread title so that it was meaningful.. Please, there are plenty of people here that will help you - you don't need to make your text huge to get help.

I'm moving your thread to Tire & Wheel.

well first of all.. im from egypt too. impreza 1.6 TS comes with stock 15" rims and 195/60 r 15 .

and i have shifted to 17" rims , 205/45 r 17 which makes the car more stable than it is and looks way cooler .

and by the way , tyres in egypt is not that expensive at all. it depends on where do u search for tyres.

PM me if your need anything
