Default Yuma

So I'm in Yuma and looking for things to do. I work Tues-Sat so it's hard to do much but if there is something going on kinda close on Sat nights or where ever for all day Sun or Mon I'm down.

I have an Idea for you...
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080313/...border_moat_dc

You can help Arizona/Yuma build a moat to secure the Mexico border!
hahahaha
Fuccin Yuma, we'd be better off to just scrap the place.

Well, seeming as she is in the military, and even if you think the current mission she is on is useless, she has and will continue to fight for your country and your freedom. So not to pester you or anyone else. But somethings need not be commented on. This is a car forum last i checked. So saying ones job is as useful as a moat is off topic. I don't know how pictures of her car has anything to do with you saying how bout build a moat. I find that disrespectful, and think we should stay on topic.

Man lighten up! I didn't say anything bad about your wife bro or nothing about her job. I made a joke about how boring Yuma is! hahaha
You say "Seeming she is in the military." How would I have known that, nothing about military was said in my comment or hers. Why you going their? Trust me, I appreciate her and everyone else serving our Country. You're putting words in my mouth, when did I ever say, "the current mission she is on is useless?"
Read what your girl wrote in this thread. She wanted something to do, since Yuma is so boring, I gave her an idea to do something. It was funny! Stop being so uptight.
You say "This is a car forum last i checked." Then why is she looking for something to do and creating 2 Yuma threads on a car forum?

too bad if you discount the scottsdale fakes, the sports teams, and phoenix's third rate cultural institutions, yuma has basically all the strip malls/ chain stores which is phx's one trick pony..

I spent a lot of time in yuma when I lived in AZ, as a private pilot, I would go to the yuma air show every year.. it is a really good air show! Yuma really is a pretty nice little town. There are a lot of good places to eat.. 13+ golf courses.. some of which are highly ranked in golf digest.. several nice lakes and the colorado river.. all the big retail outlets.. they even have movie theaters plus it is nice and un congested.. 3 hours.. and you can be in san Diego's lush mountains or chilling on the beach.. yuma has plenty to do..

Alright man, She was complaining about your post so i said i would go say something. If you didnt know that she was in the military then no harm no fowl. I think when she said let her know if there was anything going on she was referring to car meets and such. I know i am on 300zxclub and project Z32 and there are meets almost every weekend. To the scottsdale pavilions, i was there last weekend with the Z club. There is a nissan meet on the 5th in cali. There is a drag event on the 5th at firebird speedway i think its called.
She is new to the forums so she will probably post in the wrong category's and whast not.
Sorry if i came off as uptight. I really an laid back most the time.

this has nothing to do with Arizona vs socal bro.. let's not go there.. the point of the post was that yuma is not a dump.. not everyone has to like it.. but it has plenty of substance.. and substance isn't endless strip malls of chain stores like phoenix.. If the person has to live in yuma, I'd say it is still far more livable then 80% of the similar sized towns across the south, southeast, midwest..

And we all know LA is plastic.. the fakeness I was referring to in scottsdale,
a city I lived in for 22 years.. was the fact that MANY but not all people think they are so much better then others in the valley.. when they have nothing..
same smog, same chains stores as say chandler fashion center, same desert.. no ocean.. I was simply stating the superiority complex is unfounded, in a very sarcastic manor..

lets keep this about yuma..

people were bashing Yuma, compared to the valley.. Scottsdale is the valley.. why was LA brought up?
I'm an arizona native.. which 90% of the people on here prob are not.. I'm from AZ. and I have the right to post things on topic in SWIC.. without being called out concerning prior posts..

and I wouldn't call my post trolling.. I simply said.. yuma isn't a bad place.. / discussion unless you want to post place of interest for the OP as I did above..

in everyone of your post you like to talk down to people like your better then them. blah blah blah I was a private pilot.... blah blah blah im a personal money manager.... blah blah blah i like to download shaved naked pictures of elmo... dood arent you like 22 years old... who were you a private pirate for i mean pilot. you spend a lot of time bashing us over here....

I have plenty of customers that live in Yuma, mostly military people. They all say the same thing. That its boring there and they cant wait until they leave. They have to drive out here to have their vehicles worked on because no one local can perform work on their types of cars (jags, subies, benz).

yea.. again.. keep bashing me based on old threads.. I'm an outdoors lover.. plenty to do in yuma.. I havn't talked down to anyone.. I wasn't a private pilot.. I am a private pilot.. Yuma has a great airshow.. this person works at MCAS yuma..I was talking to them.. not you.. but thanks for playing.. you can solo at 15.. I have a VFR license.. I was in the civil air patrol from ages 13- 18.. I am almost 23.. and have been flying nearly 7 years.. and it is about as difficult as driving a car down the freeway..

anything else off topic? or are you done?

Ok so I'm going to try to rectify the conversation that has gone to ****. Obviously there was a mis understanding in the origional statement and everyone feels differently about any town that you go to. I enjoy being in Yuma because it is where my job is and I enjoy the weather here compared to where I am from. I am looking to meet people that are into the same things that I am and I'm new here which is why I'm looking for things to do. So if there is anything going on or anyone wants to hang out let me know and we can just put this horrible conversation behind us and chock it up as a huge misunderstanding.

Haven't really tried the dunes actually don't know where they are. It did play the other day in some sand and the windows were down which was really bad but I'm kinda new to cars so it kinda scares me to run around the dunes with it. I had a neon before. But thanks I like the rims too but I'm getting the gold BBS sent here because the ones on it are snow tires from NH>
