Default Ohio had 1500 drivers get ticket for over 100mph

http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories...MPLATE=DEFAULT

Check out this article.

Last year Ohio Drivers racked up 1500 speeding tickets for going over a 100. Such BS. A lot of states haul you to jail for that and all they do is give 150 dollar fines for getting caught.

People from Ohio drive like ********, I'm not surprised. I wish Texas would give out tickets to douche bags who drive 5mph under. This isn't Florida, get your ass moving!

Make sure you check out Youngstown if you're depressed. If there were ever the perfect place to commit suicide, that's it.

LOL this is funny. I'm an Ohio transplant and I'd say the drivers and roads here suck much worse. I have never been on so many roads that are falling off at the edges or have huge potholes. There are some streets here done right, but a lot of them aren't. And the drivers here....anyone ever hear of yielding? Or even getting on the interstate...if you have room to get over to let someone in, do it....don't block them from getting on the interstate.

WIth that said, I came from a town of 20,000 to DFW so I'm sure that explains most of it. And I do agree snow plows have hurt Ohio roads, but thats another story...

Going over 100mph in the middle of nowhere rural areas is not that big of a deal. You endanger yourself and deer a little, but not much in the day.

For the same reason I feel bad for rednecks living in 1 horse towns that can't drink a few beers while driving their trucks in their dead towns because us stupid city folk get in such an uproar about it.

=)

haha, this is hilarious. I lived in Ohio for 16 years, and have lived in Texas for 2. Some things I have noticed about Texas roads and its drivers.

1. Texans love to drive big trucks that never go offroad, and try to intimidate you.
2. The road system in TX sucks, you have 4 lane Interstates, and 6 lane State Highways.
3. Like BlueRex said, people do not allow you to get on the highway from the on-ramp, people here act like they don't see the other car trying to merge.
4. The stupid lane bumps instead of painting lines...a ridiculous waste of money.
5. Frontage roads - who is the dumb@ss that thought of these things.
6. The signs - You don't realize its your exit until you've just passed it.
7. Any sign of rain/snow/ice - you will see about 5 cars off the road on a 10 mile stretch.
8. TxDOT - heres an idea: instead of repaving a 4 lane highway that is backed up 5 miles everyday, how about widening it? (ie I-820)

and I'm done

is frontage road supposed to mean "service road"??

and what about ohio having a 2 lane highway from top to bottom??... i think i-70 from cinci to toledo is just 2 lanes... and those stupid trucks block the road half the time so you can't get anywhere. at least that's how i remember it.

we do need lots of roadwork down here though. the texas DOT just does a half-a$$ed job at fixing things when in reality they take the easy/cheap way out.

Okay - since when does highway traffic yield to the on-ramp?

Lane bumps - come in pretty handy when on the rare occasion it does rain, and the rain keeps you from seeing the stripes... what use is a stripe when you can't see it?

If by frontage road, you're talking about a service/feeder... usually only states with enough money have these. Come in pretty handy I think.

How much of a warning do you need for an exit sign? I believe 2 or so miles is sufficient.

Big trucks, yeah - because trucks purpose is to go offroad, not to haul things.

And if there are five or so cars pulled over when it rains every 10 miles - that's fewer cars to not let you merge on the highway.

I don't know about Dallas but in Houston you are lucky to get a 2 mile warning for an exit. I could list several places that do not give you even a 1 Mile warning.

If you can't change lanes twice in a mile then you don't need to be driving.

I wish you could drive in Houston during peak traffic with your arrogant attitude. You should **** if you do not know what it is like around here. I don't go into threads bashing your driving skills in threads about a location I know nothing about.
