Default Rhino lined subaru?

Im still in the process of looking for a subaru but the complaint i always hear is how they scratch like clay because of how poor the paint is from subaru... has anyone ever done a black rhino line on their sub? functional and could look great if done right...

uhm, a rhino lining for the outside? I don't exactly follow the question. Aren't these the type of linings used in truck beds? I haven't seen one myself anyhow. My take on subaru paint is this. It sucks. Two ways to deal with it. 1. dgaf. 2. Get a paint job.

I have seen this before. You could easily search it and come up with at least some other model car with it done.. I tried searching rhyno line paint job and came up with some examples easy as that.

I have considered it so I can rip around gravel roads with impunity, haven’t done it yet though. Then again I am not big on what my car looks like, just what it can do and it's durability. I have seen it a couple times here in the PNW btw.

Edit: BTW had a rhino liner in the back of my Dodge Cummins 3500 when I lived in Alaska, while not actually bullet proof, just about...

I've always dreamed of owning a powerful car that wouldn't succumb to light collisions. I always figured it would come down to external rollcage vs rhino lined exterior. I'm stoked you had a similar idea. Do it.

I'm almost certain that the STi in that thread isn't actually painted with rhyno liner, it looks more flat black. I just didn't like it at all and felt obligated to comment

This thread is retarded. Rhino liner? Are you kidding? If you want exclusivity, buy a Koenigsegg CCX

Seems like a bad idea... first, it would probably be heavy as hell. Second, how would you wash it? Couldn't use a wool mit or anything like that... I'm guessing pressure washer? if you don't care about the ability to wash it, why get it in the first place?

My buddy lined his JEEP TJ with it. It's pretty durable, but experiencing slight fading after a few summers in NJ.

As far as washing it, just hose/power wash it.

I think the biggest advantage to it for a Subaru is that you won't have to worry as much about rocks/stone scratching through the paint and leading to rust. I think it would be pretty cool looking on an off-road/lifted scooby.

not a subaru, but here's a truck with it done.
http://www.ridelust.com/rhino-lined-...ed-for-waxing/

I would probably do this to my wagon. It's my DD, but I really don't care about it going super fast. My paint is HORRIBLE. I detail it and get rid of all the swirls, but they just come back after a few washes. And I wash it carefully. 2 bucket system with grit guards, foam gun, new wash mitt every wash. It doesn't matter. The black paint on subarus is just that ****ty. I know that bed liner stuff adds weight, but I can't imagine that its going to add so much weight that I will notice less power, or horrible gas mileage from it. Hmmm. the more I think about this.........

My coworker did the entire outside of his 77 jeep cj with it. Green. It is pretty badass.

Pretty cool, post pics if you do it.

There is a Jeep right outside (literally 50ft away) with Rhino liner up to the bottom of the windows. Looks pretty neat and I've always thought it was a pretty cool idea.
