i have an 86 gl hatch with an ea81 that i keep around for a mountain/hunting/fishing car. anyway...my buddy and i got in over our heads changing the oil pump gaskets. its the old brat style oil pump with four bolt holes and is not integrated with the timing cover. we couldnt get it to budge. we called a shop and they said walk it off with screwdrivers "it will come" ....to make a long story short, the top half of the oil pump broke off and stayed inside the hole in the front of the engine....so essentially the oil pump is off the car but we still cant get the top half out of the hole to replace the now ruined pump. anyone ever heard of this. were desperate to find a solution as the longer is sits the more moisture will gum up the inside of the motor..
