Maybe even some Subaru Si-Drive system equalivalant? One of the reason keeping me from going standalone. Also how do they do their harness integration? Like the Hydra or like a few that actually plug into the factory harness?

Hey dude, i was just over at Daves workshop yesterday afternoon having a play around with a few different things, and asked him a few of your questions, (He's been oversea's for the last few months at Cypress on business)

He has just finished doing the testing on the Link G4, which is the same ecu as the G3, but link has developed if for the cars that run on drive by wire throttle and it has been designed to run with Si-Drive aswell. They needed to do this for the new STi's. According to dave that the official release is about 2 months away. He said that for people that have a car with the EZ30R in it factory standard this is the option they are sorting for you.

For harness integration, like Koom said, they have Adapter harness's that plug make for easy installation.

In short,i f you are doing a conversion then your loom will not support the EZ30R (like my project) and you will have to put in a whole new loom for it. I think that is what Dave was getting at, but if you are looking for a standalone replacement ECU that runs drive-by-wire and Si-Drive on your factory EZ30R car, the G4 will be out soon.

For those that think this is an expensive conversion i laugh at you, Dave has just finished putting in a EZ30R into a GC8R with a V8 Sti 6-speed, R180 etc, Caged and fully race prepared for just less than $28000 NZD ($21,330 USD).
It had been built with the intention of putting a turbo on it in the next 6 months.

If you want any info from me, im useless at coming on here so give me a pm and il give you my email addy. Otherwise you can stalk me on here -->Clubsub

1. Yeah this is GREAT NEWS! I'm doing everything in the case of running the stock ECU and once running see what there is in Standalone for the car(As this now is a reality!) I'm laying through the Legacy harness and tying in as much of the Legacy in(including 5eat)
2.Yeah my swap will have costed around that by the end. More than just the drive and powertrains inluded though too. This is considered high however for some people's budgets and such. Though power to cost and keeping gas milage hard to beat. This is including the cost of the car.

I love it. I'm really curious to know if there was some kind of engine management for this motor what kind of power it could turn out from headers/exhaust/intake.

It wouldn't be the fastest but I'm convinced if you get get that motor up to around 275-300 n/a awhp that it would be a beast in a wrx/gc impreza.

There is, the Link G3, but they arent been kind to the overseas market at the moment with the EZ30R, they are only letting people use it in NZ from what i hear.

Yeah? Well tell them to send me a damn G4 to the US NOW! I looked up everthing on their sight and can barely even find vendors here in the US for Link and non of them even have anything posted for kinds of cost or even vauge price range.

Ok, il know what il do. Il talk to Dave about it tonight okay. im wondering if there are enough of you over that side of the world, il see if i can organise a group buy from link for some g3's and g4's if you would like, specifically for the EZ30R.

I just have to make sure that it isnt interferring with any relations that link has over in the USA and im not organising a short changing of a business over there. But il see what i can do.
