Default Big typo on Hankook's site, or awesome new tire size?

http://hankooktireusa.com/product/ti...il.asp?pid=751

It says the 275-40-17s are 23 inches in diameter?

That would be nice! Is it true?

I'm going to go with typo.

The dimensions for most tires are different depending on the compound.

225/50/16 @ 20.8"
225/45/13 @ 24.8"

I didn't notice that. The c50 is .2" smaller than the c70, lol.

I wonder when they will update their site to include their new compound naming convension.

a 275/40-17 is 25.66" in diameter, nominally.

James Wilson talk to Hankook about making the Z214 in a 275/35-15. So that maybe a 275/40-15 or around about.

Heh, I asked the reps at the Hankook booth at Lime Rock for the ALMS race about a 275/35-15 for the Z214. They gave me a look and referred me to the dealers listed in their brochure.

That's true, but a Hoosier in that size is 23". Something smaller than that would be nice.

Are you sure? Their site says 25.5" for a 275/40-17. If it was really 23" in diameter, it would not be a 275/40-17. It would be a 275/25-17 or 275/30-17. Now I understand tires can vary in size from their specified widths, but not by that much.

That must have been where I was reading, or mixing my info between the two spec sheets. My brain was on vacation yesterday. Just ignore me
