OMGHi2U Time for a Political break!

Hi Everyone,

I have never done this I am a republican my whole life. and I have seen a ton.

I give up on Politics But I remember growing up watching Viet Nam on TV every night (only 3 channels then)

And I cannot believe the mess Bush has us in!

I do not believe that that Clinton is right as a Bush or Clinton will have been in control for over 28 years. That is wrong!

But if we do nothing she will win. I have looked at all the angles and believe what this man says.

Sorry to be Political here But we all have to do or feel like we are doing something !

Politicians and Prostitutes are almost the same thing, except you never get your money's worth from a politician, and in the end, you are the one to get screwed.

I believe America is the best place to realize your dreams, but America needs to care more about Democracy and our future than Brittney Spear’s crotch.

If you are going to vote, know the facts.

This is surely going to be a key election for the future of not only the US, but the rest of the world. Ties are being severed and a whole new rash of militants are being "bred" with a hatred of America based on decisions being made today and those that will be made tomorrow. For the sake of not going into a big debate here, everyone 18 or older needs to take the time to think about the world of their future. To think about the world of their future children's future. We are on a destructive path, and something needs to be done now before its too late. Even if politics are not your thing, in the world around you something is. Take the time to learn, and when the polls open get your ass in gear and vote.

I believe that we need to take our country back from these politricksters and big business.

In this election, I feel as if I am stuck in a situation where the only candidate I believe in doesn't have a chance to win so I will be wasting my vote. I do not, however, want to see Clinton in the white house and will end up voting for the lesser of two evils. I suppose we will see the other Bush in after her. By then, all our freedoms should be dissolved and we will live in a police state.

I completely agree with you Keyser. That is why, in this election, we need to use all our resources and not allow big business funded media to distract and then guide us to THIER "popular" candidate.

We need change. We need a fresh look. We need to move forward to get ourselves out of this hole we have ended up in.

I think it's funny how they're judging them by how much money they're raking in that they only going to blow on stupid ad campaigns. Ghey.

I say anyone but Hillary. As a republican, I could live with Obama as president, but not Edwards or Clinton.

The ones that rake in the most money usually have the most favors to return.

Unhappy

There are quite a few problems with the current political/government structure:

1. Until society as a whole votes based on issues rather than the (R) or (D) behind a candidate’s name, it is pointless.

2. The party system is broken and makes people compromise their ideals far too much. There are a million issues and only 2 candidates... what's the chance that one of them aligns with your views even 75% of the time?

3. The prevailing assumption is that politicians in office are more capable of problem solving than we are. Just because someone can regurgitate someone else's words on a podium in a convincing manner, does that mean they are more capable of solving real world problems than scientists, professors, doctors, historians, or even a normal citizen like myself? I think they have proven that they are no better at it.

This true but spend some time looking at Obama site as most donation are from individuals, the 2 party system is broken and I think Obama is taking it to the people. Do some research. It is the largest grassroots movement in politics I have seen in 20 years.

I cannot believe the Bems are behind hilory ( I think she had people killed in arkansa) it crazy!

Iowa will be key this year this was in the iowa paper today

As the only Democratic presidential candidate to be against the war from the start, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama and his supporters said Wednesday night that it's that kind of judgment that makes him the person who should next lead the United States.

"The hard truth is that the war in Iraq is not about a catalog of many mistakes -- it is about one enormous mistake. The war in Iraq should have never been fought," Obama said.

Iowa City resident Christopher Baker said Obama's consistent stance on the war is part of the reason he supports the Democratic senator.

"At the beginning, when this war was getting started, he had the judgment to say this is not a good idea," said Baker, 31.

"I think he takes the high road in politics," Baker said. "He wants to unite people for the common good -- Democrats and Republicans -- and I think that's something that we need."

Obama described himself and his goal for the presidency as a change from "conventional Washington thinking."

"If you want rigid ideology, I'm not your man. If you think that fundamental change can wait, then I'm definitely not your man," Obama said. "I offer a different vision for the future."

Supporters reiterated this desire for change with some chanting "turn the page" as others cheered during the speech.

"It's time for us to stand up and tell George Bush that the government in this country is not based on the whims of one person. The government is of the people, by the people and for the people," Obama said.

"The American people are not the problem in this country. The American people are the answer."

As January draws near I will spend a couple of days on each canidate. I'm also going to start looking heavier into local politics, as I feel I/we can have a greater effect here.. A good website to keep an eye on is http://www.opensecrets.org/ . I have utilized this tool to find out a whole wealth of information about canidates, fund raising, bills, and which companies support them...
