Question Broken Throttle Body and TPS help

I made stupid mistake when pulling the engine out of my 99 OBS and broke the Throttle Body right at the Throttle Position Sensor and broke the sensor too.

I was wondering if anybody could tell me what will happen if I'm not able to find a used/new throttle body to replace it and I end up putting it back together with a significant gap at the TPS? The integrity of the intake seems to be fine, just a 1/2 inch pice missing right where the TPS hooks up. Will a significant amount of air be able to get in through the throttle rod hole? Will that matter?

I'm planning on replacing it, but might need the car drivable before I get the part.

Thanks for any help you can provide!
