Default 05' Legacy Speakers

sorry if i have this in the wrong forum but it seems legacy specific.

i have an 05 legacy gt and i'm trying to install some alpine speakers because my left side blew. i cannot get to the screw behind the door handle to get the panel off. the only tip i could find was twisting the door handle off until it showed the screw. but the guy who did it broke all his clips that hold the panel on. has anyone swapped them themselves? whats the best way without setting yourself up for rattling noises?

thanks

I have not done the new body style yet, but if I know the car well enough, you don't have to get that screw. The panel should pop off around the handle, and you just remove a trim ring where the handle mets the panel. The wife's 2006 forester was that way...

by the way, the panel is super easy to do, once you figure it out. You'll be wondering why it took you so long the first time, one you get the hang of it.

hmmm, when i replaced my fronts, i had to remove that screw. and i broke one of the tabs off. if you go slow and use a trim popper you can help the tab pop out with out breaking it. but to be honest, i cant even tell i broke one of the tabs.
