Default Yay for another 2.0L 18G...

Finally got tuned this past weekend by Mr. Tim Bailey himself. My goal was to have a safe and reliable car for everyday driving and a bit of fun on weekends. I love the way my wagon feels now!

18G
TurboXS Top Mount
JDM STi Pink Injectors
Walboro 255 Fuel Pump
GPMoto Equal Length Header
PDE Catless Downpipe
Apex'i GT Spec Catback
SPT Intake w/ Heatshield
Denso IK-22 Spark Plugs (1 step colder)

I had my car tuned last summer, but I've since then added an equal length header and colder plugs. So the reason for the re-tune.

The tune was performed on a DynoJet Dyno:

This map shows my base pull Vs. tuned pull. Both on Craptasic California 91 Oct.

And here's my favorite tune...this tune is on 40/60 mix of 91 oct and 110 oct. So basically 103 oct.

Yup, that's exactly what I was shooting for, plus I've actually gained ~17 ft/lbs of torque.

Hehe thanks guys. I belive it's a 7cm turbo. It was originally a Deadbolt 16G upgraded to a 18G internal when it was sent back for the rebuild. The Pinks should be good. I don't have the duty cycle info, but as far as I know, Tim didn't max these out on the tune. (Leaving some headroom just in case) I'll have some updated car pix when I get home today. Oh believe me, it's fun to drive now. Especially on the race fuel map!

Great numbers, Tim is definitely a master when it comes to making a 2.0l/18G combo work right. Now step up to some methanol and have some MORE fun

Yeah, I wanted meth. injection but I'm on a tight budget right now. The race fuel will have to hold me over for a while. That's dead on about Tim and 18g's, mine was the 4th 18g setup he was tuning this past Sun.

Yep, my car was a guinea pig for the 18g/2.0l/Cali 91 setup. He's done many of them since, and has obviously gotten very good at doing so. My setup was fun while it lasted, but alas it is gone now, in favor of a slightly bigger setup.

Very nice. I always enjoy looking at 18G plots on the 2.0L. How much boost? What kind of spool are you seeing on the street?

Wirelessly posted (LGE-VX9900/1.0 UP.Browser/6.2.3.2 (GUI) MMP/2.0)

I didn't have a chance to get any additional printouts. (ie. Boost, A/F Ratio, etc.) I'm going to ask and I'll post it up when I get it. The peak hold on my boost gauge shows just a hair over 20 psi, and I was told my boost gauge reads about 1 psi over, so that would put it at roughly 19 psi. The spool/lag time on the street is not as bad as people would think, it's a very streetable car. I usually shift around 3K-4K on the streets and that's enough to get around in traffic.

What EM? I'm a dyno tune newb. I've got an openEcu flash on mine now, but I don't know how they tune other than that or another programmable ecu.

Anybody who thinks spool time is bad on an 18g should not be driving a turbocharged car.
