mmmmmm.... forbidden speed!

Since I live in Canada, I'll have to give it to you in KM

(to convert km to miles, multiply by 0.62137)

The last number on my speedo is 180 km/h (which is funny, because I'm positive a civic's speedo goes up to 220!!!), but the needle goes way past there.... .... and when the needle stops, it still feels like it's speeding up!

Does anybody know the top speed of a 2.5 Legacy?

Chris.

My wife got up to 100mph in her 2001 GT LTD before I started getting paranoid about cops and told her to slow down. I don't know if she's gone any faster, but I have my suspicions

The car feels so smooth even at 100mph

I got my 1992 Legacy 2.2 up to about 115mph and almost hit a racoon, didn't go that speed ever again in that car, heh (it was a bit shaky too) and in my 1997 Legacy GT, I got up to 112mph like everyone else, smooth as a babies ass I would say.

Don't know what my actual speed was, but the needle was impacting on that raised edge of the speedo (BTW, speedo ends at 120). I was going downhill, though.

Yep, up over 120 before the chicken-factor kicked in. Or is that common sense? Oh well, still smooth, still pulling (not strong, but pulling).

Top speed, Rev-limited, in a manual 2.5 is 132mph.

Top speed, brown-streak-limited, in my GT was 120mph.

I was actually very amazed at how *QUIET* the rig got at that speed. My wife was doing some needlepoint at the time and looked up because she thought we were pulling over (it sounded like we were slowing down, not hitting the limits). I would never do that again on RE92s, but, under controled environment I would not be opposed to doing on my Z-rated's.

125 on I-84 just for giggles, If I want to go above 150 I need to get on my bike! Then, 120 in a car is very relaxing. Boy were my brakes hating life on the slow down.

Took my dad's e36 m3 to 153mph one time. Stupid guy in his newer generation 328ci thought he could take me . . . his car wasn't THAT fast . . . he found out the hard way

Oh wait, we're talking about Legacies . . . my mistake.

130 mph in Montana before they reinstated a day time speed limit. However I think I would have gotten caught doin 130.....I don't think the "Prudant and Reasonable" sign would cover that

That was with a car full of stuff as I was driving across country....that was pretty well pegged for my car.

I got up to 118 mph when I was chasing Josh (legacy777). At that point I hadn't hit any limiters, just decided that it would be wise to slow down and let my girlfriend, trailing behind in an impreza, catch up.
