EDIT: dealer has one...I will be picking it up tonight!

I broke the A/C pulley tensioner tonight...does anyone have one or know where I can get one? I looked on Subarugenuineparts and a new one costs $105

That's them trying to sell you the whole pulley.. You snapped the plastic piece off the pulley I'm assuming.. Just ask for that piece.. Brad over at Perry Subaru (in Virginia Beach) got me just the plastic piece for my car for like 5 bucks.

I have a brand new timing belt tensioner, in box, in my trunk...

I could check the part # and see if it's the same as the one you need.

Did you just bust a pulley, or the actual timing belt tensioner that you have to compress/decompress to remove/snug the timing belt?

call up your local dealership..thats the exact part I was talking about. or go to the dealership and ask for it that way. its just a piece that is seperate from the pulley itself.

I swear that piece is metal on my N/A...

I'll have to be wary of that on the STi...

I just did a search for that part number on subarugenuineparts, and it is the same part for all 2.0l and 2.5l engines from 1995 to 2007.

I thought it was metal too, but the orginial piece is plastic...it has faded to a gray color, so it looks metal.

Does anyone know of a write-up for the install on this part?
