Unhappy CEL from hell

So here's my story.

October 2001 CEL comes on. Misfire code's all cylinders. Dealer cant find problem. Long story short, its January cars been in 5 times for a total of almost two weeks. Dealer, with the input from Subaru's tech line, has replaced the O2 sensors, a temp sensor, the ECU and the throttle body.
This morning it comes back on. I've had it back less than a week and here we go again.
I've been in contact with Subaru's customer service, have my case number and everything, but whenever I call now I'm told that the agent handleing my case (Karen Quin) is at lunch and she will call back. Never once has she called back.
I have no idea what to do anymore, I can't bring my car in every week to have something else changed only to see the light days later. I'm talking to a lawyer about the Lemon Law. Hate to go that route because other than this, I love the car. Let alone the fact that I've put over a thousand into it with suspension and stereo.

Lemon Law it. Remove aftermarket stuff and then purchase a low-mile used RS and a vacation in Hawaii. You have a clear case for the Lemon Law, and your dealer should be on board as well just so they won't have to deal with your car anymore. It might be a small PITA, but you should come out ahead, not to mention with a working Sube. Good luck.

Don't be affraid to investigate your lemon law rights. Before you spend money on a lawyer. Check the web for your State's lemon laws. Bring a copy of them to the dealer and let SOA know that your formally requesting that they repair the car within the guidelines of the law. Ask SOA for some compensation for being without your new car for two weeks while youv'e been making payments on it!

email her:

KQuinn@Subaru.com

She only responds to me this way, she's never called me either.

I'm right there with you, my car's been in 5 times, for a total of 9 days, still get a CEL.

Hadn't really seriously thought about the Lemon Law myself, but now... it seems I too have a case.

If the law's there maybe I should use it.

Thanks Bugsie1, I'll try that. Like I said, I hope it doesn't come to a lawyer I like the car and have a lot invested in it. Good luck on yours. Keep me posted.

Default Take this with a large grain of salt...

I think you should call and refuse to talk to her, or be transferred to her voice mail, and talk to a manager or supervisor (demand this), and tell them that she does not return your calls, or attempts to get a hold of her....

That's absolutely ridiculous......

It appears that Bugsie1 was right she only responds to E-mails.
Took one day to get a response.
I now have a appointment to meet with the District Service Operations Manager at the dealership the end of this month to talk about our options.

This may sound stupid but check the gas cap.

The WRX is hyper-sensitive to the gas cap being loose (or not sealing properly). I had the same situation several months back and the dealer "couldn't find anything". I soon learned of the gas cap situation and now the CEL comes on about once a week. I figured out that the gas jockey's here in NJ can't tighten the cap right. When the light comes on I just shut her off remove the cap put it back on TIGHT and the light goes off after 1 or 2 starts.

Don't know if this helps anybody but I know it is a major source of frustration

Default Ahhh

Its nice to know that other people have similar problems. I have gotten the misfiring CEL(and all the crap that comes along with it) so many times now that it is kinda like a normal occurance. So far the car has been into the dealer 4 times now. They have replaced the MAF. I am just starting to get SOA involved.
