Unhappy Bye Bye....hood deflector.....

I was driving on Freeway 280 this morning......
my hood deflector flew away all the sudden at 80 mph.......
I saw it hit the the 15-feet height 'direction sign' in my rear mirror.....and no way I can pull over and pick it up...*sniff*.....

Bummer, sorry to hear it PK. I imagine there'll be little of it left when you drive back. Thinking of getting another or trying the Stongard route?

Stongard = 3M "clearbra" product that adheres directly to paint using positioning liquid and a squeegee. Several WRX owners and others have talked about using it. There's a thinner version for body parts and a thicker version for lights. I have it on my headligts and fogs so that I was able to remove the little plastic grilles from the fogs. Let me do a thread search and come back with some more info.

edit: check http://www.stongard.com/sgcontent/r...ail_Pack_ID=896 or
http://www.invinca-shield.com/main.htm

Stuff's not cheap but a growing number of people swear by it, as do I for the limited use I have for it.

PK... who installed your deflector? I just installed the same on my soob, and the fine print in the 'structions says use blue loctite on the mounting clamps that bolt underneath the hood. If yours was dealer installed, you mite want to hit them up with "you guys didn't put it on right". Maybe you'll get a new one for free. Hey you never know!!! (I'm goin out to see if mine is still tite rite now)
