Default 07 STi Track Results

I ran a 12.788 @ 105.65mph with a 1.763 60'.

Only mods are TBE and AP tune by XXTuning, full interior

It was unsually warm too, at Epping, NH dragway, mid to high 80's on Saturday afternoon.

Here's the slip.

Hopefully with a litte more practice I can chop it down to a 12.6.

driving is on point but it needs more trap, i know you can drive and shift - so log and see if any timing is being pulled or some sort of leak......the 1/8th is a little low too, what are your shift points?

i see cars with your mods go 107-110 in this area, also make sure you shift 5th and see if your trap goes up

Shift points are redline in 1st / 6700rpm in 2nd / 6krpm in 3rd and 4th which puts me into 5th a few hundred rpms before the end of the 1/4.

When I was at a different track a few weeks ago my traps were 106-107, but 1/4 times was 13 flat.

I know I still need a lot of practice hustling this car down the strip... I'm sure someone with more experience could rip this car.

run the gears out a little harder, everything about your run is great outside of the 1/8 and 1/4 traps.

I'll give it a shot. THis was actually the one and only run I got in that day at the track, because it was so busy with some events I'm somehow overlooked.

So I plan to go back soon so I back it up with another run, and I'll give it a shot.

Pump 93oct gas from whatever the nearest name brand station to the track was.

Was the caps really necessary?

I'm shifting 5th in 1/4 based on peoples suggestions... like bren suggested above, and others I was talking to at the track that were having success shifting 5th.

And I listened because redlining 4th at a different track the other week only picked up 1-2mph... but kept me in the 13s flat.

And based on my butt dyno it does pulls harder in 5th at 5krpm then in 4th at 6krpm.

Seems like you gotta bang those gears a bit harder. Your trap speed is highly dependent on how quickly you shift.

That's what I thought... which why I mentioned that I need practice still.

My weakness is really on the 1-2 and 2-3 shift...

But practice makes perfect and hopefully my next visit in a few weeks will reflect that.

I'm just happy I'm finally outta the 13s.... lol

Whats up man, glad to see that you are getting the hang of launching the car.
Im going to the track this weekend, pm me if you wanna come.

A 1.7 60' and 8.1 8th mile is spot on for a good driver/your mods. 12.7, however, is a little low, especially for warmer weather. Expect to run a 12.5 in cooler weather, and lower than that if you'll do some weight-reduction mods.

honestly, practice alot on the street, i dont mean go racing, but practice your shifting, you would be amazed at how much better you get when you bang gears for fun.

That is a bit slow for your WHP numbers. Only 105 traps? Your 60 ft is fine...

Edit, read all the other comments. Take a look at your tune and see where WHP falls off. Most 07's tuned correctly will pull all the way to redline. So shift right before the limitter. Shift hard and fast. You shuld not have to shift to 5th. If anything run through the traps banging the limitter in 4th.

For comparison, there are stock 07's trapping 104.

i commented in the other thread of his, his tune makes less up top then the OTS tune. Chris said it was running too lean OTS.

Here's my dyno plot, and the one Bren is refering to in the post above. It feels much stronger in the middle then up top according to the butt dyno.

I will be going back to the track in a couple weeks and will be trying running it straight through to the limiter at the same track.
