Default swap help 98 outback with wrx driveline, what driveshaft??

Ok my swap is finally getting there!! engine is in (02 wrx), trans is in (02 wrx with all 02 wrx mounting hardware) rear end is in (full 02 wrx rear diff + carrier+ axles etc) I have removed all of the "outback" spacers as i call them. the metal ~1" spacers that are between most of the body and suspension parts.

now I go to put the 98 outback 5mt driveshaft in, and it seems to be rubbing on the shifter. the Output shaft of the trans looks like its sitting realy high in the tunnel also.

my question: do i need to use the legacy/outback trans mounting hardware? if so i'm assuming ill have to source a legacy 5mt trans cradle as the outback has some spacers affixed to it.

or:

do i need to get a different driveshaft with spacers.

CLIFF NOTES:

full 02 wrx driveline+engine swap with all wrx subframes (trans, engine, rear)
output shaft sits high in trans tunnel and driveshaft looks like it will rub th shifter

how to fix?

thanks! I'm really excited to get this on the road!!!

I don't know about the cradle but I just used my RS drive shaft when I installed the transmission. Had no issues. I'm betting it's the cradle/crossmembers. Either that or something isn't sitting right.

cheers

bump anyone else run into this?

I'll give the cradle a shot tomorrow, but it'd be swell to know ahead of time..

oh and if anyone ever contemplates taking the outback spacers out of the chassis, make sure you crossreference all the bolts/mounting brackets subframes etc.. this is a headache!
