Default Changed Battery - No Start.

While I was mounting my battery today I wasn't careful enough and the disconnected leads that were sitting near the top of the battery came in contact with the terminals, there were sparks and the horn blasted for a second, which scared the crap out of me. I finished hooking everything up, but now the car won't start. The parking lights and the door chime work, but the odo is blank and there is no power to the starter. What did I blow?

On further inspection I now see the SBF1 80A fuse is blown. Now I have to figure out how to get a replacement.

are you 100% sure the battery isn't hooked up backwards?

We have ignition.

Lesson learned: You know those tabs that protect the terminals on new batteries. Don't take those off until you've got the battery bolted in and you're ready to connect the terminals. Or; If you do take them off make sure the battery is the right way round when you first lift it in.

What happened was when I first lifted the new battery in I didn't look to see which way round it was and when I let the wires lay on top on the battery the positive connector touched the negative terminal and visa versa. Also did you know the horn sounds when you do this?

Homer: Why do thing that happen to stupid people alway happen to me?
