Default So Cal: ScoobySport cat back exhaust for 02-07 WRX & STi....$450, local pickup only

Sold 11/3/07

I have an original Hayward & Scott ScoobySport axleback and center pipe for sale. They were on my 2006 WRX less than a year, about 15K miles. While not exciting to look at, the sound is fantastic and for me transformed the car. The sound level is just right. Mellow when you're cruising, just barely heard on the highway on steady throttle, and throaty when you get on it. It was a serious disappointment to go back to stock when I sold the car.

Picture below taken today. Exhaust is stainless steel and is built to last. If you were to call up Hayward & Scott and have both parts shipped over from England like I did, it would cost you $795. Daddy's SCP is the importer for the US and lists the axleback alone for $575 + shipping. I'm asking $425 for the pair and not interested in shipping these, local pickup in the Torrance area. Since I've not sold anything on the Nasioc site, if you're looking for some feedback on me, check ebay under the user id amal932. If you're wondering if that's really me, send me a message from ebay and see if I know what I'm selling.

The SS exhaust is 2 1/2" where my stock axleback was 2 1/8", and the center pipe 2 3/8". The SS center pipe is straight through compared to the large resonator in the stock pipe. It's designed to mate to the stock down pipe so it has a donut gasket junction. For a photo comparing stock exhaust to ScoobySport click on the link below:

Close up showing some detail of the weld quality & design, nice thick gasket flange:

Movies below taken with the movie function of a digital camera, not the best sound quality but it will give you an idea compared to stock.

While in excellent condition there are a couple flaws. There is a fingertip sized ding in the muffler cannister on the drivers side. Once on the car you'd have to be under the car and really looking to find it. It was there when I unwrapped the packaging when the exhaust was shipped from England.

Hayward & Scott builds these by hand. When they built mine, they didn't get the cannister clocked quite right before they welded it together. Here's a picture on the car from behind. It's rotated about 8 degrees counterclockwise from where it should be. It could be corrected by bending one of the rear mounts up and the other down but it didn't bother me enough to fix it. Note that rotating the cannister will also rotate the connector pipe to the center pipe downward away from the differential, reducing your ground clearance.

I managed to drag the tip lightly 1 time leaving a steep driveway at 2 mph so it has a small scuff on the underside of the tip. I wasn't able to get a decent photo of it. Again, you'd have to be underneath the car to see it.

PM me if you're interested. Oem trailer hitch and Covercraft sun shield for the windshield also for sale.

Price dropped to $425. Too far for you to come get it? Have a local Nasioc member pick it up and ship it for you.

Where in NorCal are you? I've got a friend in the Antioch area (works in Santa Clara) headed this way first weekend in Nov. He might be willing to bring it back with him.

Excellent ScoobySport exhaust still available. Back a year ago when I decided this was the exhaust I wanted, I would have jumped at a deal like this instead of paying full price.

Sold the car, now it's time for someone else to enjoy the ScoobySport sound.

Pending the outcome of the sale, I'd be interested, too. I could probably ask someone to pick up and ship out to Reno.
