Default Moving to england

Hey in about 2 months or so ill be moving to Mildenhall RAF and would like to get a subie out there. But what does owning a car in england require? Will there be alot of taxes to pay and how much would like a 1996 WRX go for in US dollars? OR would it be worth to bring out my 1980 Mazda RX-7 out there? Any info would be great and what would have to be done to get a edm subaru legal in the states?

Try the above link theyre in the UK. Take those prices and multiply by at least 2 to get the conversion. If you have cash to burn I suggest Litchfield (Euroscooby loves it when I say that). They have the Type 20 and 25. Supposed to be the best handling Impreza period. Its a spec c with some upgrades. A new UK spec from a dealership is going to be quite a bit more than in the states. I guess theyre made of some sort of precious spacemetal. Not even worth trying to convert to get it spec for the states. Im in Germany. I bought my car before I came over. If you want a new one I would suggest the same. PM me and ill try to give you some more info.

we didnt get the wrx in the uk till the bugeye shape in 2001,before that we got the 208 bhp classic saloon or wagon which became 215 bhp in 98 when it was facelifted iirc. All wrx and sti models are imports from japan here.A 96 wrx is worth 3-5000 pounds depending on condition and spec but the benefit is there are many more models to choose from,ie type R,RA,Vltd etc.To own a car here you need tax,mot and insurance thats it really....and the ability to drive on the other side of the road

There's loads of scooby clubs and forums. Scoobynet and the SIDC are two good forums. There are loads of local clubs as well as clubs for the RB's, WR1's, P1's etc. We have a good scooby scene over here, various events and shows throughout the year.

I have a Litchfield Type20 and it's worth every penny
I did some track sessions around Silverstone and an rings around everything from Focus RS, M3, Evo's .... the lot

I have some vids in my YouTube (see profile link) if you want to see what I mean

P.S. All cars in the UK are expensive because of the rediculous import duties we have to pay here. The car actually costs about 18K in Japan ($30k), but you add about another 10k to ship it over and pay the duties, taxes and SVA costs

Hey I am trying to locate a set of the wheels that litchfield uses on their cars. They are silver 12 spoke. You can see them on you tube and on their web site. Anyone know where I can get a set of those? I live in the states thanks Jeff
