Default socal snow terrain tire recommendation

I live in southern california but am planning on driving to tahoe/mammoth a few times this year for snow sports and was wondering if you guys had a good recommendation for a tire that would do well in those environments but still be good on the highway for 20-30k miles.

For reference I'm running a 225/45/17 right now on sti bbs's.

Appreciate any advice you guys have to offer.

Thanks,
Mike

Nokian WR's. All-seasons but also certified as a snow tire.
