Hi, I just got WRX from the dealer with 6000 miles on it (the manufacture date is 2-01). They took off $2000 because of the mileage. It has the carbon fiber trim, updated sound system, arm rest, and the wing.
1. Was this a good deal? 2. I took the car because i need it fast..my old car broke down. I'm not really happy with the car....I wanted a brand new one. Do you think the dealer will take it back and get me a brand new one ( i now I'll have to pay more). I bought the car last week......I'm suppose to be having fun but instead I'm thinking about this everyday Thanks

Was it a good deal? No, if you're indicating $2000 of MSRP. Can you take it back? That's a question for your dealer. Probably not, and definitely not without losing out financially. Cali has a No Buyer's Remorse law, meaning once you sign the contract, they don't have to take if back if you later realize/think you made a mistake/can't afford it.

I would be greatly concerned if you sold this car under the premise of being "new" versus "previously owned/used". The dealership should have provided full disclosure regarding the car. Did they extend your warranty? As Julian indicated, it may be too late. If that car was in the dealership stable of cars or was the designated "demo car", those 6K miles are going to be HARD miles. People pushing the car during test drives and people who have little or no experience driving a manual transmission or downshifting an AT. ![]() If you are not experiencing any problems with the car, you may just need to chalk this up to experience. If you are having problems with the car, you should seek advice from a lawyer or contact your local consumer group. I know it sucks to be without a car but... personally, I have more time than money. Good luck and let us know how things turn out. |

If it was only 2G off list it wasn't a great deal, but on a lease they'll charge between 10 and 15 cents per mile for "over mileage" which should translate to $6-900, so I wouldn't complain too much.
Besides, you didn't have to suffer through the break-in period. |

THe car was driven by one of the managers at the dealer. The price before tax was $23,300. It has the carbon fiber trim, alarm system, wing, extended arm rest, compass and premium sound system. I got it in CT.

IMHO, that isn't a good deal. Without there being other outstanding issues, however, I'm pretty sure you're stuck with the car as you can't return something of that magnitue just because you have buyer's remorse.
It's possible the dealer might get you into a new WRX, but don't be surprised in the least when they only give you $20G trade-on for your car. As you haven't reported any problems, just enjoy the car, as it is a wonderful machine. ![]() |

Here's my story, I DO know how you feel
since I did exactly the same thing: Financially, it's maybe not the best deal, but who am I to judge, I paid MSRP for my Rex just so I could get the first one in town (almost). I bought my old '85 Saab as a "executive" car with 9300 miles on it. Try as I might they wouldn't go but 14% off MSRP(yours is about 12%) ... still I couldn't swing a new one as prices had risen dramtically for 86's. AND it turned out it HAD been used as a Demo, since a friend of mine could still find the suction rings from his radar detector that he used during his test-drive ![]() The old girl now has 245,000 miles on it and is waiting in front of my house for me to tire of my new toy and come back to her. She's a good ol' horse, and I don't even bother taking the Subie to HomeDepot since it won't hold more than a couple of cans of paint. So the moral of my story is, um, well you get the idea... There is a tendency here in i-club sometimes to focus on the negative but overall it's a worthwhile place to spend some time ![]() |

What's done is done. Does one constantly think and worry over a girlfriend/wife's ex-lovers and what they did to them?
No! You love them for the way they are now, regardless of the past. Learn from your mistakes, but enjoy the car if it is problem-free. Drive your troubles away! ![]() |

SOunds like a very bad deal at $23,300 before almost $1500 worth of tax. I don't think they would give you more than $19K to trade it back in. Best bet is to sell it outright or have someone take over payments. But the bad news is I can get a new WRX with better options than yours for under what you paid. Sorry
Good luck!Mike ![]() |
