I just got some 17X7.5 wheels and am trying to decide what tires to get.
I guess I'll be putting on 225/45/17's. This is a daily driver, so I'm looking at tires that have decent treadwear and are not super noisy. Any recommendations?

I'm happy with my Falken FK-452's. Excellect bang for the buck. You might want to check into them.

255/45 is going to be a pretty tall side AND thats going to look funny on a 7.5 inch rim. 235/40 is probably your best bet.

and.... so should i go get some 195/60/17s for my car because its my dd? smaller the tire the less aerodynamic drag which would make for better gas mileage. and the 60s would give me a more comfortable ride.
i think not. remember my yokohamas.. those were 235/45/17's and those side walls were tall. |

I bought a new set of Rota Torques. They resemble my stock rims and I was able to get them pretty cheap.

Falken Azenis rt-615 I would say are the best for the money. Another good tire that has a softer sidewall, higher wear rating, and is less money is the Kumho MX. The Azenis do wear faster, but they are cheap as hell for what you get.

Discount tire online's having 100 bucks off w/ free shipping sale right now. So, whatever you get, go that route.
I had Kumho SPT on my S2000 and was really happy with them for DD/performance duty. Other than that Falken makes some pretty good/inexpensive high treadwear tires. |

I guess there are a lot of votes here for the Falkens.
I was also looking at Bridgestone RE 960 As Pole Positions or Pirelli Zeros. |

For daily driver Azenis or Toyo T1R are definitly a good choice. I plan to put Azenis 225/40/18 on my Speedline ultralites.

I agree with that - really hard-wearing performance tire. I have them on the E30 street wheels, and they're a great street tire. Even held up pretty well for 3 DE sessions at PIR. Not a bad tire at all, and cheap!

driving on the falken 452s,great for daily driving, though i miss the stiffer sidewall of the rt-615s. The b etter treadwear on the 452s is a pretty good trade off for my longer highway trips
