Default Winter Autocross - Feb 24, 2002

It will be a much simpler course than the usual summer autocross events. The course will be plowed so that there's 1-3" of snow on top of the pavement that will get packed as the event goes on. If it's possible, we'll have an icy straight and corner to really test your winter driving skills.

Note that studded tires are not allowed! The pavement could be damaged, so we're not allowed to have anybody run with studs/chains/etc.

Marshalling stations will be situated such that you sit in a car out of the wind. There will be a port-a-potty, and we might get a heated building if things work out. Dress for the weather in any case, if you don't marshal, you don't drive!

I would like to say a big thanks to Corey from the WSCC, who has really worked hard to make this happen. Hopfully we will have a good turnout.

You'll have a blast shaun.

Marshalling is basically being assigned a spot and when somebody knocks over a pylon, you radio it in...and reset the pylon.

That's basically it in a nutshell.

I can't wait for this.

I think if nothing else this will be great oppertunity to practice those car controll skills.
If we need some driving tip's john from Jackson Autosprt should be there with his gtx, and he's been rallying for 20 years.

Warren,

Since you were involved in the planning, I am assuming that this is being held in Calgary. Correct?

Any E-Town boys and Gilrs interested in going other than me?

I never stayed up that long but I'm up now ready to go. Tool world has the best selection of the gloves, but cdn tire has just the regular black ones for the cheapest.

Subie content: it snowed lots last night...I'm gonna go out and practice now.

Assuming the WSCC is using the WCMA rules at least helmet wise, you'll need a snell 90 or better M or SA helmet.

Mixed: you can rent from the WSCC or you can rent from us. It's $2.

We only charge to recover the cost of the helmet. You can pay either $2 each time to us to a max of $20 then you will have lifetime use of it. Well you'll still have to share w/ other ZuCru members as they pay too. Hope that helps.
