Thumbs down Subaru of Thousand Oaks - a Grain of Salt

I had read on this forum some really good things about Subaru of Thousand Oaks.

I just called them to bring my car in for check up on the syncro mesh... after being transferred across three different dealerships, I finally reached Subaru of Thousand Oaks.

The Service Technician or Operator, or whomever, did not introduce himself, simply took my last name only, and told me to bring it in on tuesday. He was about to hang up the phone, without waiting for my reply. After some talking, he began to get rude. He offerd short, uninformative answers, was always on the verge of ending the conversation regardless of whether or not I had questions, tried directing me to another dealership, and refused to pay for a rental car, despite knowing that he would be stranding me 35 miles from home.

I can only hope that the actual service person I deal with when I go is a better person than this, but this rude conversation definitely left a sour taste.

I had some questions re: service & gauge installation - I called Valley Dodge/Subaru where I purchased my Wagon-
Both parts & service people I talked with were knowledgeable, helpful, and courteous. Give them a call & see what happens-

Thumbs up Follow up

Nothing but courteous, knowledgeable service, and definitely a very aftermarket friendly dealership. Great guys who would be cool to just chat with, if they weren't so busy!

But I'm glad my fears (in every respect) were unfounded. A Great place (and familiar with I-club too, for what it's worth =)

Default ...sorry to hear that...

...I did recommend BUYING at Subaru of Thousand Oaks. But I didn't really feel the service department is that great, either. The service guy who was told to pull my car out to the front after the service was done revved my car like it was his. So I gave the department my piece of mind on that.

Valley Subaru, on the other hand, is only 3 - 4 blocks from where I live but... the sales people not only tried to play games with me, they would not answer any of the questions I had directly. I am NOT buying a car from that place! But seeing a former Power Ranger actor selling car was quite entertaining though... I don't know anything about their service department, so I may try them next time.
