Default couple of maintenance questions

just wondering if anyone here replaced their fuel filter and added fuel injector treatment at the 24,000km service (assuming you aren't bringing it to the dealership). i did some searching and didnt really find anything usefull. im just using the maintenance list i got from the richmond subaru clinic. i'm asking, since i know that sometimes, the dealers don't really replace everything they say they would.

***oops, didnt realize i was still in classifieds, can the mods move this..thanks***

If you have been always using premium gasoline, for example, Chevron 92 octane or up in your WRX...
There is no need for you to do the fuel treatment!

yes, i've only used premium gas. what about the fuel filter? i find it odd that these are listed to be done at only 24,000km.

It's a good idea to have the fuel filter changed every 24000km if it is accessible!

I am not 100% sure about the 07 WRX...
but for 04 WRX, the fuel filter is located at the back of the engine bay near the dash!

Fuel filter is a piece of cake - unclip it from the clamp, loosen the hose clamps on the inlet/outlet hose, replace, connect hoses, tighten clamp, done.

Although the newer Imprezas also apparently have an in-tank fuel filter. That might be a biotch to get at.

actually, that does sound easy. can anybody else verify the in-tank filter as well? but can i wait till my next major service to do the in-tank one? cause if thats the cause i might just get the dealer to do it for me.

older imprezas had their fuel filters really accessible. Newer ones, IIRC 05+ Subaru decided to move it into the fuel tank. It is supposed to last 100k km thereabouts. I'd change it if it didn't require any dismantling of the fuel tank....
