Question HVAC Control problem...

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas why my vent control won't turn all the way (clockwise) to the "Vent" position. It used to in the past, but one day it just wouldn't go to that position. It just stops halfway over as if it was hitting something. All the other positions are fine.

I had a similar problem after I changed the radio from stock. The vent controls are attached to a cable behind the face plate. The new radio was causing something to hang up on the cable a few inches from the vent control. A very nice mechanic at the dealer helped me and we pulled the center dash section out a few inches, messed around with the cables until everything worked right, then pushed is all back together gently.

Did you change any radio or CD components?

Default Perhaps...

Well, I didn't mess with the radio, but I did install a temperature gauge (which required removing the cupholder area) and I installed a boost gauge (required removing different parts around the instrument cluster and leftward).

I thought of the possibility, but I don't recall ever getting into that area. I'll see if I can get a look sometime. Thanks.

P.S. - Great timing to have my window defroster option gone, huh?
