Hong Kong Car in Wasilla?

I'm not sure if what I saw is what I think it was...

Yesterday there was a car driving really slow on the Parks Highway in front of Nye Ford and it had a weird plate. It was sorta a tiny bit taller than ours and white with black lettering. Two letters centered on top and four or five on the bottom. I couldn't tell what kind of car it was and didn't really get a look at the driver as I was watching traffic.

Anyhoo, just kinda weird, I think it was a Hong Kong plate, but who would pay to bring a some boring econobox car over from Hong Kong?

The letters were HK on top for sure, then like C867 or something on the bottom part.

I even have a pic of the car as it caught up to me at the intersection, not a good one though, but better than nothing. I know the pic sucks, but it's the grey car, you can kinda tell it's a white and black plate is all...

Just wondering if anyone else has seen this thing around, or if I'm nuts and seeing ****boxes with foreign plates hallucinations now.

Could be military and the military pays for the person to ship their personal vehicle. Orrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. the person is into foreign plates and is breaking the law by having false plates. I'd bet on the military thing.

I was thinking military too. I guess if a soldier buys a car in Kunsan or something it could be tough to get US plates on it over there.

i dont know anyone who bought a car in korea. why would they waste bringin back a Kia? Now, Kadena and Misawa, hells yea!

Is it a Kia? I couldn't tell, not good at identifying these bland boring newer cars. They all look the same to me.

no its not a kia. But thats all that korea makes. Im sure they sell toyota, i was just bein funny.

I've seen a few of them around town adn i just thought maybe they were diplomats, because the vehicle i saw were NIIIIIIIIIIICE vehicles one was an SUV and the others cars...

A bunch of people that got stationed in Italy from Japan brought over Skylines. That was pretty cool seeing those. Too bad they couldn't bring them back to the US that easily.

It could be some Consulate of a foreign country and may have diplomat plates on front....
