did you get the PS pump fixed while you are at it? And how could it not be covered, do you not have a B-to-B warranty?

That ain't no 'frame rail' at $20. Frame rails are those rather important things that your bumper attaches to and run all the way under the floorpan. Not exactly something that is installed in 6 hrs (more like 2x that).
$20?? Man, you got me. ![]() |

Yeah a frme rail is a major part of the chassis. No way one would cost only $20 for parts.

the 20 dollars was for a fender well, not the fender itself. but the bending the frame....leaves me in great question?

There is something screwey around here.... Faraz we are your friends you can tell us you hit something
I doubt it was auto-x, or my rusted almost non-existent frame rails on my XT6 would have gone away totally...-mike |

I can see puting the car on the frame machine to bend it back. In my instance my right frame rail was toast (it hit the engine) but the left wasn't that bad, it may be able to be pulled.
do you have to pay for it? |

yeah fender well that thingy
nope not covered under warrenty they consider it physical damage that I did to the car. Then they said "well it's becuase you lowered your car." I said "ok so if the car was stock height would it be covered? they said "no" then y the whole ***** about the car being lowered? I don't know how i did it...if I did I wouldn't mind but I have NO CLUE. Becker is REALLY anti-mods and they do not have a Subaru master tech. like faulkner. Faulkner said "see what you get for buying a car from them? then where do you get all your service?" I replied "you guys, but if this is the kind of treatment I get here. then I'll go there still get treated like **** and not have to wait 3 weeks before you repair something you messed up the first time!" I race in the philly region auto-x: camden, Naz. speedway, and Boeing in philly they fixed the belts right this time...bitching about the UD pulley ...I said I have the right belts you guys just didn't do it right the first time. the funny thing is I can't take my car to becker for a 2nd opinion because they do not have a body shop! I'm so pissed and now with a f-ed car and no money to fix it ![]() |

Becker, Strike one:
"Hi, I need an LSD from an early nineties legacy." "Huh, whats and LSD?" "Uh, its a Limited Slip Differential.... It's used as the center diff in cars with AWD" "Oh. None of the US subaru models offer that. Sorry" Becker, Strike two: "Hi, I'm looking to buy an Impreza 2.5 RS" Salesman with horrid look on face "Wow, we don't get any of those... they are very rare" 20 minutes later at Faulkner: "Hi, I'm looking to buy an Impreza 2.5 RS" "Ok, we have one in stock right now and a couple coming in in a week or two" "Great, where do I sign" I haven't given Becker a chance for strike three. They are far too incompetant. --Roy |

you took your car to get the underdrive pulley done? you know most any of us here could of done that for you. and go to faulkner, they are WAY better with service and more leanient (sp??) about mods.
plus my one friend works there (not a technician, but has hookups) and he always helps me get my car looked at when i need it. |

I would talk to your insurance company. If it was previous damage, then it was not fixed correctly and they should have it repaired for free or close to free. If it was new damage, then they would pay anything over your deductable. If it is state farm and your claim costs them less than 800 they will not raise their rates on a comprehensive claim.

no I pull the pully on ...the belt was just squeeking a little ...well as anyone in the 48hrs meet can tell you they made the prolem worse NOT better....then took 3 weeks before fitting me in to fix their f-up ....I don't think my insurance is like that but I shall see.
Becker knew what my 01 RS was and gave it to me $250 under invoice and threw in the sunroof visor. I thought the same way about the mods with faulkner but twice now they have dicked me because of mods...So I think I'm going to see how becker is from now on. |

No offense Faraz, but if you are a "car guy" and can't tighten your own drive belts that is pretty darn sad. I'm not a mechanic but I can tighten my own belts....

So do I, but what does that have to do with the drive-belts and tightening them?

Maybe some people don't have what we call "TIME" or "TOOLS" to do things. I take my car to Faulkner to do oil changes. Does this mean I don't know how do to it? My car is too low to put it on my ramps so I pay a dealer to do it. I also pay to have my car washed because I don't have the time to wash her, yet I know more about detailing a car than the Detailers do.
Hey Faraz, and how did you find out about the bent frame rail. with a bent rail you should see hood gapage and panels not lining upl Bill |

yeah man, I don't have the tools ...but I do, do my own oil changes....the only reason I didn't even try to do my own belts is that the service was covered under the 15,000mile service I was getting done.
they told me the frame rail is bent....it rubs my tire when I turn to the right that's the only way I know something is wrong with the car....hell if it didn't rub I wouldn't give a damn. the insurance thing. yes anything under $500 does not raise your rates per se, BUT it does count toward unwritting and at the end of the year rising your rates. Easy example: ok so I claim this its only $350 my rates do not go up ...now say I get into a another accient in 6months for $5000...that becomes 2 accidents in one year. See it does count against you ....I can't afford that. ![]() |
