I am going to contact SOA and see how long we'll be there on Friday. Then plan out a route through the Pine Barrens and we'll take it from there and see where to go. I'm thinking of bailing on Rutland this year cause we didn't get any turn out from the NESIC guys last year from that area. I'm considering doing a run similar to last year up through the Hudson Valley up toward the Adirondacks and push further North than last year but no East toward VT.

Anyone have any contacts for a good hotel/lodge up in the Lake Placid area? I'd think that would be a good place to crash Saturday night.

My friend John knows has a good friend who I think works at Lake Placid. She might just live/work in the area.

I'll e-mail John and see what I can learn.

Default Sunday, Feb 3rd - Super Bowl Sunday!

Hey Mike,

Quick thing for the dates. Feb 3rd is Super Bowl Sunday. Not sure if that is going to make a differnece or not.

I'm in either way, just at this point it looks like I'll have to meet you that Friday night. We're a small desk and one of my co-workers is out that Friday, so I'll have to work and then drive up to wherever you folks are.

YAY! right in the middle of the time of SNOW!!!

All of you will be happy to know that i wont be using my "rally car" this year. It has been sold and reworked by the new owner for rally-x.

I have a new arsenal of L's and will more then likely be using one of those on the route this year.

I with Murray on this one and am all for more backroads and more snow! lots more then last year would be nice This will also help keep rocks out of my tire bead

I have never attended this event and I am going to try and make it this year. Only thing is right now I am running all-seasons on the sti for now don't think they would be any good on a trip like this. Anyone got any advice about this event. Thanks.

The all seasons are fine if they are in good condition and you are a good driver. But pretty much everyone runs snows for this event. They are much better when we get into the white stuff and during the time of year that it will be this year, there is sure to be plenty of snow, even on the major highways in Central NY.

I recommend either Blizzak LM-25's or some Revo1's. I have the Revo1's on one of my cars and they are great! I dont think that they sell the WS-60 in the size that you would need for the STi, but that is what i always like to use.

I now have to decide whether to bring the Forester or bug my wife for the pimpin Tribeca. I just ordered a set of Hankook IceBear's from Discount Tire for a great price, take a look at those.

I'll be running the Dunlop M3's on the Forester, so either will be snow ready.

Good all seasons will be fine. I usually run all seasons but the car I bought this year has snows on it.

I bought the Tickets before the date was posted other wise I would have bought the tickets and this is the only time I can see my Team play this year unless I fly to a fame and that I'm not doing.

Sorry guy's.

I guess Billy's attitude answers any concerns about Super Bowl Sunday .

BTW - confirming we'll be collecting for American Cancer Society again this year?

Mark, you suck.

Will your lovely wife be joining us instead? We like her better anyway.

What teams are playing, and where?

I just don't want people to feel they can't attend without snow tires. Anyone on at least all-season tires is more than welcome to attend.

My team the Detroit Red Wing will be playing the Boston Bruins Sat Feb 2, at 7pm. So I have to be up in Boston on Saterday. This is a one time chance to see my team close to home. Last year they played at the Garden and I got to go see the game for free but this year is costing me $$$ to go see them.

We might come out the first night then just drive up to the game, but we will see.

im 90% sure i'll be on all seasons this year again.

last year i made it fine in my LGT on 17" Kumho ASX's. this year i'll probably be on craptastic 16" Michelin MXV4's or 17" General Exclaims...
so yeah...All seasons should be fine. AWD FTW.

actually, thinking back, we had a FWD SVX on A/S's make it out perfectly fine..well, slight issues with traction on steep hills in ice..but thats a different story.
