Exclamation Cylinders 3 and 4 not firing...HELP!!

I have just swapped a 2002 Impreza Outback Sport EJ22 into a 1999 Legacy Brighton I used all the wiring harnesses from the Legacy and the manifold, throttle body, and all the sensors from the Legacy. But I still have the exact same problem I am not getting any spark to 3 and 4, and my ECU is throwing out codes about the camshaft and Circuit A, but I pulled the timing cover and it's timing is perfect. Did you ever find the reason for this?? Please HELP!

Thank You
Lethality

No, I didn't ever find the reason for this. Then again, I didn't realize I was supposed to be looking.

What problem did you have before that led you to swap out the engine?

Are both engines DOHC or SOHC?

Do both engines have the same cam timing pickups on the cam sprocket? On my DOHC EJ25, the cam sensor is on the driver side intake cam and if I pull off the intake cam sprocket I can see the metal triggers on the back of it.

What are the specific codes? I don't know what a "code about the camshaft" is or what "Circuit A" refers to.

sounds like the coilpack for 3&4. start there and work your way backward. if 1&2 are firing, it has nothing to do with your timing belt, cam or crank sensor. furthermore, it has nothing to do with the igniter as it's on/off switch. sounds like coil pack. check the grounds.

check the wire harness first as some wrx's have misfires because of the wire harness at the coilpack. twist the connectors slightly then see what happens.

Um...you either have the wrong engine, or the wrong year in your original post.
In 2002 the OBS only came with the 2.5 Litre engine.
