Default A couple video clips from Shenandoah Circuit

A few weekends ago I went down to WV to run the Shenandoah Circuit with Trackdaze.com on Oct 6th/7th. This was the first track event I've had a chance to get to since early July, and will be the last until probably sometime next spring/summer (if I'm lucky).

Here's a map of the track:

The arrows are actually from the configuration I ran when I was there in Sep '06 with my Mustang. This time we didn't run the Pit Straight, so instead we cut across the bypass (labelled as Turn 18). I honestly preferred the Pit Straight, as the flow through the Esses coming off that straight was a lot of fun, but I guess people are "intimidated" by the Pit Straight because it runs right along a concrete wall.

The event was a good time, although I did have an issue that cost me a couple of sessions on track. The front passenger side injector developed an external leak - not a huge amount, but enough that I could smell it, and the injector was wet where the wiring harness attaches. That initially happened during the 3rd session on Saturday, so I missed my last session that day following some guys from AR Fabrication over to their shop to check it out. They found the main O-ring (where the injector seats into the rail) was torn, so they replaced that for me.

Unfortunately, Sunday it did the same thing. I still haven't pulled the injector out of the rail again to take a look at it. It seems fine during normal driving (made the 400+ mile trip home without issue), but apparently when pushed it wasn't happy. I've had the car on track for 30+ days and have never had this problem, so I'm a bit confused about why it happened not just once but twice. Anyway, the problem came back in the 2nd session on Sunday. The 3rd session wasn't going to start until 3:30 or something like that, and I had that aforementioned 400+ mile trip home, so I elected to just pack it up rather than go out again and risk screwing myself by completely blowing the injector O-ring or something like that.

I was running in the Advanced (Black) group, which at my last 2 events down at VIR in June and July meant I was giving a lot of pass signals. There really weren't any disgustingly fast cars in the group at the Trackdaze event, though, plus the tighter track configuration meant the lap time disparity isn't quite as extreme as it is at VIR. There were a few fast cars, but (unlike the VIR event) I'd generally get passed by them once in the session and then never see them again.

Anyway, on to the video clips... Both are just over 15MB.The first one is an in-car clip from Saturday following a pretty good chain of cars and starts at the beginning of the Bridge Straight (coming out of turn 8 on the map). The second one is a side cam clip from Sunday and starts about 2/3 of the way down what is labelled as the Back Straight on the map but is really the Front/Main Straight.

Enjoy!

I assume you mean the knob itself? I don't remember, and I'm away from the car right now. The shift lever is the old STi short shift lever, and the shift linkage bushings are shot, hence the flopping back and forth in turns.
