I just bought a Group N transmission mount on ebay and it says that one of the threads needs to be dyed. I was wondering if anyone knows what size thread it was so I could go ahead and get the dye kit before it gets here. If anyone has any info I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks a lot!

It's a die
. The thread is most likely 10 x 1.25. |

Huh
Why would you have to modify anything? Was it not made for your car or what? By the way, tranny mounts, easy install as long as you've got a jack to hold up the tranny. |

Is the thread just boogered up? If so, you should get a thread file instead of a die. A thread file will have 8 different thread forms allowing you to purchase a tool that you will be able to use again and again. Make sure to get a metric one. Thread files are available on any tool van or at most Napas and good hardware stores. It will run about $15, I bet.
This is a tool everyone should own. |
