Default What are folks using for a LAME encoder nowadays?

I use CDex on an olllld version of LAME (3+ years old)
I play it thru an iPod (which, btw...WTF doesn't someone do an f'in LAME plugin for iTunes Windows...the MacOS version gets one )...

Anyways...I'm about to do a fresh Windows install and HD formatting...and want the latest greatest LAME encoder freeware

I know more than just AcquaCow uses LAME...

What do y'all use?

I still used CDex, never let me down. But I've long since switched to Ubuntu, and I re-ripped a lot of stuff w/ the built-in ripper, which I'm almost positive uses LAME 3.93.

No or little benefit for significantly increased file size.

-V 0 for me thanks. 256k+ VBR is plenty.

EAC + LAME 3.97 on Windows.

Grip + LAME 3.97 on Ubuntu.
