yeah check out modified magazine doing up project sti. catback, downpipe, cold air intake, headers, stock ecu (reflash),tumblers(only gained like 10hp and 10ft/lbs). this thing put down 350whp and over 400ft/lbs at 21 psi on pump gas. this thing had stock lines, stock injectors, stock intercooler and more importantly stock turbo. i though this was incredible. all these parts cost them $2200 bucks. they could have forgot about the tumblers, and would have only cost them around $1700 bucks. they gained 141ft/lbs of torque and 85whp. on $2200 bucks. that isn't bad at all and were saying that now the sti has almost easier power capability then the evo's.

which is still 60 ft*lbs and 70whp less than the evo

you can add a FMIC, fuel rails, injectors, fuel pump, turbo inlet, and race gas to the STi and it still wont be close.

Stock turbo the evo wins hands down. With bolt ons its a toss up , then beyond that with headwork and internals the evo wins again because its so much easier and cheaper to do. Cams/Valvetrain are "bolt on" for the evo and a common mod and very rare on subies.

theres a reason why stuff is cheaper for the evo subaru durability FTW.

anyhow it depends what evo turbo you are talking about. there both 16g's pretty much. the evo9 has the better turbo. a evo8 compaired to a 04-05 sti STI wins hands down.. talking minor bolt ons.

"Big AL's a Racer bro"

lol who seen the south park with Big Gay AL?? lol need I say more!
